The viewports stay like this no matter what I do

Looks like it isn't working with your video driver, what kind of 3d card do you have?

What OS are you using...? Win98 or Win98 SE?

Archer I had a similar problem...What you need to do is run 3d Studio with the option
-h added to the back of the path to the executable " I.E.: "c:\max3_1\3dsmax.exe -h" Then when you restart Max choose Heidi and use the Zbuffer option or try the other Heidi option.
