I'm not clever enough to get my lods imported with a smooth surface (or maybe AC3D is not working correctly). Okay, can I
edit the lod file my self with a flag and if so what is the value to give(in monkey terms please)(ref Sv's LOD description)
Thanks in advance/wil

Okay apparently you are getting the effect of 90 degree angels on the edges of your shape right? I don't know much about AC3D but in 3d Studio just add a mesh smooth gizmo to it =), it autmotacially does the shading for you too. That way you can render the scenes with the light at the 12o clock position for the top of your shape, 6o clock for the bottom and so forth. In other words you want your lighting to be right over the middle of the "side" of the object your working on =) because it is to my knowledge that SDOE does not having lighting in it. Everything is lit up in it. So you have to apply the shading yourself.
