Hey guys, ok, I've looked through the Open Plane docs, and there is a reference to materials, but with no values for them, so this begs the question, does anybody know the list?? Number/Material.

I'm thinking that cement being the first means it is 0 and water being the 3rd I already know is material 2, so, does this mean that the materials as they are listed in the documention are in the correct order, and are numbered from 0 to 16.. that being:

cement 0
glass, 1
water, 2
grass, 3
sand, 4
rock, 5
dirt, 6
mud, 7
ice, 8
snow, 9
metal, 10
rubber, 11
wood, 12
treetop,13
swamp, 14
crater, 15
fire, 16

Is this correct? I have a lil prog that I use to quickly alter the material values (based on Lodhack) so switching them is easy, but I could really do with knowing whats what.

Thanks guys

~Nat~

btw, if anyone really needs that lil prog to switch material values let me know, it was made primarily for work on terrain though, but can be used for any lods. Infact, this prog can be quickly altered to run any of hippies tools, it's basicaly a batch processor to save time.

PS.. who helped me make that batch prog??? lol, sorry, I really have forgotten

Nat, I wrote a proggie for setting any polygon whose vertices have an elevation of 0 to water. This was to be used on a terrain-project, but I don't know if it was yours.

Nat,

Set the deck material to water. Also, the deck should be part of the parent LOD.

Marcus, I tried that.. the deck is part of the same LOD and is the parent, but when I set it to water I get splashdown when I try to land.. LOL, looked real cool actually.. gonna reset back to water and take some screen shots

MH.. Thanks, I haven't seen you post for a while and thought you might be tied up, glad to see you still get a look in

Roy, yes that one was for me, but it did smoe wierd things.. lol, dunno why, but I lost all textures after using it but I didn't look into why at the time, this one I have is different.

Pete, I'll package it up and mail it over to you later

Nat,

I don't know what is wrong but you can look at how the Akagi was built.

thats just the problem Marcus.. I have, and other than shape they are identical in the properties.. wierd thing is, I thought to myself that I'd see what happend if I replaced the Akagi LOD with the Ark Royal LOD, and guess what.. I couldn't place a/c on the Akagi when I did that.. and all I did was change the LOD, nothing else.. so I really don't know whats going on now, I tried changing the height of my deck, that didn't work, tried altering the bottom of the ship so it doesn't go below the surface of the water, that didn't help.. I'm miffed!

If replacing the LOD with yours caused the problem to occur, maybe you should look at the polyflags. It seems like it must be some attribute of the LOD, and that sounds likely to me.

No Charmster, I tried that to see if it would work, since the Akagi was ok, but when I put my LOD to it it wasn't. But! Thanks to mposis I've fixed it!! The Ark Royal can now be used to start from. I had to change the material value of the ship to grass and it works now (duh.. should have guessed that huh? lol)

Anyway, I shall be posting it tonight or tomorrow I'll repost a thread to inform everyone when it's posted

So, in other words, we mow the deck instead of swab it?

Nat, you fixed it! I love you! Right now all the carries out (even Nats now) can be started from and landed on.
