Hey Laika,I got so close to getting two crew members in my Betty, but here is the prob. I did all this in the asc file. Well.... What happens is that the Navigator appears under the pilot, like this ------------------ "Don't move, if we scatter, he'll pick us off! Stand Together!"~~Aladar Thats 21 times to see Disneys Dinosaur and counting!! IP: Logged |

Exam in 60 minutes, not much time now...You don't need to do it in the .asc file (or .ol file). Just copy and paste any object (best with one or no lod asigned) to your Betty, rename it to Navigator or whatever. Delete its lod (only a yellow arrow will stay = "empty object"). Copy the PilotSit file out of the pilot folder into your Betty folder, rename it to BettyNavigator.sm and insert this file reference to the Navigator object in the .sm file of the plane. Reload (make backups !) - now you should see this 2nd "pilot" somewhere. Copy the proplist of the pilot and paste it to the navigator and make necessary changes (from 'pilot to 'gun or 'obs or whatever it should be). MAKE SURE TO TURN "PARSE PROPLIST" OFF IN OPS WHEN YOU DO ALL THIS FROM ABOVE !!! Ohhh - I had to go now ! I'll explain it later ! LK IP: Logged |

OK - I assume you got two working (chute..) crew members in. Next problem: you had to rename some parts, otherwise you will see strange things (maybe even CTD's). Rename all objects of the new navigator.sm file (do this in the .ol file not in OPS !). Uhhhm - not all !! - leave 'cigar, 'parpack and 'Parachute. Test if it still works. If you got the time - please try to find out which of these 3 objects is the key for a working parachute (cause I renamed all objects (i.e. 'Ab to 'PePilotAb etc) and the chute stops working after this, so one or all of those 3 objects need their original name. Read this 3 times to understand it BTW - gterl was asking for similiar stuff, I'll post a small tutorial on Pilots/Crews and some helpfull files later this month. LK

Ohhh - I see you used the Mosquito as base.sm - hmmm no good, to much groups in there. Anyway - first step : remove those second pilot(JapNav.sm) !LK IP: Logged |

Uh-oh, information overload. Alright, I got this far. I renamed the pilot to JapPilot and JapNav. I inserted the reference into the OPS. But, I've got a object named Navigator with no LOD, and a File reference in there. Problem, inbetween Navigator and File reference, I dont have a group. Do I need this?------------------ "Don't move, if we scatter, he'll pick us off! Stand Together!"~~Aladar Thats 21 times to see Disneys Dinosaur and counting!! IP: Logged |

First:Remove the second group inside the pilot (like on the pic above) !!! IP: Logged |

Second:You got a navigator object with no lods - fine - inside is only the file reference - fine - no group is needed here ! Tell me if those two crew members work right ! LK IP: Logged |

Problem, I cant seem to get rid of that second group without Illegal operations shutting down OPS.IP: Logged |

Just remove it in the .asc file (I really would start to use the OL tools from HIPPIE !!). If you tried this you made something wrong Calm down and give it another try.. Good luck ! LK IP: Logged |
