Added quad 50'ds for an optional loadout. (Copied the pilots gun....) The Blister guns and tail gun shoots out the new gun instead of their positions... What do you have to do to assign a gun to the pilot???------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |

yo snick. I saw a catalina a few years ago at a static display. I think i have some pics. unfortunatley the plane later crashed, was destroyed etc. IP: Logged |

OK, had all standard guns working correctly, with correct ammo (Twin 50 in the nose, 50's in the waist blisters and a 50 in the tail...) (PBY-6A) One of the field mods was a quad 50 on the nose fired by the pilot (raked heck out of barge traffic...). I wanted to include this. I copied the gun already associated with the pilot 3 more times and positioned it. Changed the loadout to include the new gun positions Pilots was 1, addons were 2,3,4 Blisters are 5,6 and tail is 7. Not counting the twin 50 turret, only the forward facing guns fire (and then only one, depending upon what station you have moved to..., even though every gun in the loadout has ammo. The pilot position only shows gun 1, not 1-4 as expected....The waist blister and tail guns never fire at all anymore... Arrrrgggghhhh ------------------ Snickers =FC=

You didn't mention adding the guns to the pilots gunList. This would explain why the extra three guns won't fire. Don't know about the rest...IP: Logged |

To make a long question short... What do i have to do to give the pilot 4 guns... I dont care if I have to go back to a previous version, I just want to know what to do... And/Or why didnt addid the 3 guns work? (You sound like you are not surprised, so please enlighten me.... Thanks

There is basically four things to do: 1) Add the gun parts themselves 2) Add the gun names to the pilots (or gunners) gunList property list. Should look something like gunList 'gun1 'gun2 ... 3) Add the new guns to a loadout 4) Make sure the loadout has ammo. This should do the trick. If you use the convergence function in OPS it reads the gunList property of the selected part, and will display the guns it finds. You need to find the right gun owner for this to work, probably something called 'pilot' or 'pilotview'. [This message has been edited by Bryan Russell (edited 07-04-2000).] IP: Logged |
