Hey Bryan, I'm having alot of trouble with OPS, it's been happening for a while, but seems to be getting worse, problems I've had mainly are.. using the PART tool, when selecting the properties for a LOD, then changing to a different LOD with the Properties showinig, it crashes, not all the time, but more often than not, if before changing LODs I switch to DOF or LOD instead of Properties, it doesn't crash. The error I get is: OPENPLANESTUDIO caused an invalid page fault in module OPENPLANESTUDIO.EXE at 015f:0041ee5e. Registers: EAX=00000000 CS=015f EIP=0041ee5e EFLGS=00010246 EBX=bff5582a SS=0167 ESP=0073ecd0 EBP=00000000 ECX=0073ece0 DS=0167 ESI=013c5130 FS=42f7 EDX=0073ed68 ES=0167 EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 58 f8 85 db 7e 38 8b 4c 24 30 3b e9 7f 2c 8b Stack dump: 013c5130 0073ed68 005844d4 bff5582a 004c1904 00000000 00000000 0073eea8 0047fa2f 00000001 004218e6 0073ed68 00000000 0129264c 00000000 004212a7 Also, I'm finding that every time I use OPS, the display freaks out, here's a screen shot: I have the latest Voodoo3 2000 drivers installed, and Directx7a. This is the only program that I get corrupt graphics with. Any ideas Bryan? I too have a bug to report. When ever I zoom in close and move around an object, OPS freezes up causing me to restart my computer. Any ideas? Im using a V3 3000 AGP with the latest certified drivers. I have plenty of RAM (160 MB to be exact) so I dont think its freezing due to lack of memory. I especially poses a problem with large aircraft such as the Zepplin.IP: Logged |

Nat, do you mean selecting the properties for a part, rather than LOD. LOD is just the levels of details, and the part (model) consists of several LODs. Anyway, I think I know what you mean. I will look at it.I would say that the corrupt screen probably has something to do with the driver. Maybe with a particular device mode or something that OPS uses. Anyway, you should be able to use mono mode which uses a software renderer instead which will bypass the 3d acceloration of the V3. ArgonV: I'll check this out

I don't no if it is any help, but ops was making big trouble for myself as well, until I deactivated the special graghic chip properties for my TNT2 card.IP: Logged |

sorry Bryan, yes I meant a part, when I select a part, with the part tool, then work on the properties.. then change to a different part OPS crashes.I know it aint much help, but I'm kinda glad that Laika is having the same trouble, least I know it's not only me.. lol Also, I'm already using Mono, I'll try switching to RGB instead. ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

Me too Nat/Laika. It happens when I have the DOF or Properties tab open with one of the tree branches expanded. If I do not close the branch in the tree view before selecting another part of the plane I get a page fault. TS

The weird thing is that I see this bug only with some objects, i.e. the instrument needles did not crash OPS.IP: Logged |

well, I switched to RGB mode, and don't get the display bug now... but I get a crash with almost anything opne, as Tail says above, it can be worked round by closing things up and saving everytime you do anything, but damn does it slow even the most simple of tasks down. Wierd thing is, when I first started using OPS I never had this trouble.Well, I hope you can find out whats up Bryan, if not, we'll live.. lol ~Nat~ IP: Logged | |
