Bryan,

One thing that I believe would be a minor addition to OPS, would be to allow me to select a point in an object and view its coordinate in the model global system as well as in the LOD local coordinate system. That'd be very helpful when adding contact points, obWheel definition, tuning of DOF angles, etc.

Yes! this is what we OPS dudes need! Bryan, could you please, please, please, please add this. One more thing that I think would be MOST helpfull. When rotating stuff we mostly have to "eyeball" it. Could you consider adding a rotation tool that lets you input the angle of rotation? Alot of times I find myself trying to turn parts around 180 or 90 degrees but I have to "eyeball" it, so that would be life saver if you added it. Thank you.

I have started this. The half-arsed implementation of it now exists in B1.3.0.

The co-ordinates are in the status bar, and at the moment only show the position relative to its parent.

I plan to have both rotation and position values that could be configured as relative to:

- The Parent i.e. the parts local co-ord system
- The world
- The main model of the file, i.e in the Spitfire, the one called 'Spit'
- A arbitary part selected by the user.

these settings would be 'sticky' for a part per session. i.e. the wing rotation (Dihedral) would stay relative to the main body, while the wheel would stay relative to the strut.

I may make these 'sticky' between sessions, as I wanted to add a sort of 'config' file for edited SM files so that I could have named groups, and other stuff to help with workspace organisation.

I have heaps of Ideas for OPS but unfortunitly not enough time to do them all, so please bear with me.

Any other suggestions for this particular feature?

Bryan

P.S It will also have a vlue type in that will let you type in a value relative to what is set up.

Don't know but probably world I suspect. Most proggies like this are. You can probably set something up to show parent relative, if it supports hierarchy
