another stupid ac3d question. How do you deform objects or change their shape. would i be correct in saying that it is in the object menu. My ac3d is yet to be registered so at the moment i'm learning the basics before i buy it. .My object menu won't work. I also started my b-29 in truespace.but whether it ever comes to any thing, who knows.
thank you.

Its been a while since ive used it but i think you want vertex mode. Drag the mouse over the vertices you want to move, then drag them around with the mouse to where you want to put them...or use scale (its in one of the menu's, cant remember which right now)

Darthbob-

Falck is correct. AC3D is a is a vertice based editor. I would recommend that you download the HTML help file from the AC3D web site. It is a quick read and give you all the key commands as well as a good idea of what AC3D is capable of.

Also, go to SV's SE5a site and download his tutorials. They are excellent and will help you build your model in ways that avoid potential problems in compatability with SDOE.

Heres the link...

There are numerous folks here that are quite knowledgable about AC3D. Feel free to ask questions and someone will jump in to help! Especially if they think they are going to get a new aircraft out of the deal!

darthbob,

Look out for non-planer polygons if you move verticies around. You can move verticeis that are part of triangles all you want, but if you move a vert that is part of a rectangle you might end up with problems. Either "triangulate" the poly, or make sure that the rectangle remains planer. Planer means that each vertex of the poly lies on the same plane - in other words, make sure the poly is flat!
