I read in HandyDandy.doc how I could reduce the strobing of the propeller in some planes. Two pieces of advice were given:
1. Add a Bessie as a plane, and point all the *.sm files to Fw propeller and magically the propeller will disappear. I cannot work out how to add Bessie to a mission (except as a ground object). She doesn't appear in the list of acceptable planes. And then I would have to alter the *.sm files accordingly. Is this safe? Is it easy? Will it be useable on-line still?
2. The other suggestion was to paint the "fuzzy grey Propeller" tifs all black. Well, I can only find a few propeller tifs in Data1.par. Only one of them has a fuzzy grey back ground (the one in the Ju88A4. All the others are already black with just a rim of colour representing, I presume the painted propeller points). Do all the other planes' propellers point to this file, or have I missed something? Are there other Propeller tifs which I would miss if I searched Data1.par (unbigged) for *prop* in Windows Explorer? If I fiddle, will I still be on-line compatible?
3. I notice that someone was talking about removing reflections from the cockpit of the Zero; and they were told they would be on-line INcompatible. Is this true of any cosmetic changes apart from skins? I imagine that I could be tempted to shrink the backplate armour on the the spiffing P38 to get better view, but would that render me incompatible (don't fly it at present
!
4. What is an INTA file: is it interesting: and how do you open it?
That will do for now
Many thanks
Mark.
