I've got a bunch of .obj files sent to me, some done by DanW to improve the Corsair texture mapping, and some for "Project X."

But I can't get OPS to open them at all. When I highlight a model part, and select the import .lod tool, using .obj files, it allows me to highlight a file, and then it pops up a little box where I'm supposed to select options and so on, but no file appears, and it just says "null" in the box. So no part gets imported.

What's the deal here? Now I didn't make the .obj files in question, but I'm pretty sure the guys who DID make em knew what they were doin. Do I need to do something in OPS to enable the .obj import capability?

It should just work Jedi.. the only time I have problems is if either

-too many objects in the .obj file
-a program other than 3dsmax makes the .obj file. I tried a few other programs and ops did not like their files.

Well, I got a replacement for one of the files, and it worked, so it seems that maybe the files themselves are at fault...

when you say too many parts in the obj file are you referring to too many polys ?

The part is the fuse and its just one part but it has a couple polys in it

When I tried loading in a terrain file from max that had 400 objects (not polys) it REALLY didn't like that

I'm as allways not really sure, but I think I saw similiar problems with the I-16 (main-panel-import). There was a problem with OPS .obj import when the .obj file comes with to many objects/textures (can't remember it exactly). I thought it was fixed in OPS V1.2.1 !?

Try going back to an older version, i think 1.0.3 imported obj. just fine.
