Heya, I've added a reverse feature to the tiger tank, it now also has 2 engines instead of one, and seems to climb hills quite well.
It is a bit on the fast side still. I'll be cleaning up the lods this week to get rid of unused textures, and packaging it up for release for the weekend.
(it uses the g (gear key) to switch to reverse: actually it reverses the direction of the two hidden props.) The cleaning out of textures should make it a bit more stable for those folks that had problems with it.

Can the Tiger be made to run over/crush low objects?

Archy - could you describe the problems (short) that arise with moving vehicles, I got some ideas, but no time to test things, it would be good to know what is possible and what is not.

Problems:
Well you are driving vehicles with hidden propellers:
1. Make the props obNocollide
2. difficult to have something go the correct speed and still climb hills properly: no way I know of to adjust gearing on the fly.
3. AI still doesnt seem to do much with them, though they will start them rolling, they don't seem to go to waypts, or attack anything yet.

Laika, let me know your questions, I can tell you what I know so far. Pete has an alternate method for moving vehicles, but as far as I know that isn't for people to drive online.

The propeller is a public CEngineTarget (see OP-Specification) and a tire too ! Why not use the Wheel(s) as the target for the engine ???

Ai does not doing anything (aiming etc..) ? Hmm - Mr.Ai is a dumb ass, but it might help to experiment with things like aircVa, aircVmin, aircTurnDist...Also the obClass should be something like 'fighter or 'fighterbomber or so.

He does not go to waypoints ? Might be that the waypoint-height should >0. Who knows ??

Could you test some of the things out ??

There is some bug with this that crashes the game when you try it.

Laika: The current version of the tiger is a fighterbomber I believe, and It also has all those aircraft properties you mentioned.
Now the waypt idea of being > 0 alt, I will have to try that out.(And I tried the tires out as engine targets a long time ago)
I've also tried setting the tires to rotate with a key press,(which you can also control the speed of rotation with osc commands) but the engine doesnt really allow you to propel something in this fashion.

Crazy - uh - that means the Specification file does not tell the truth ;/

What about this --> 2 wheels (or more) each as a children of a prop (without blades or BodyPts). Now when the prop rotates the wheel should rotate too. !?

Mr. AI - Kick him ! I'm not sure, but could it be that he realizes that he`s on the ground, and so he does not attack other things ? If this is true, we need a trick to tell the Ai that he`s flying. Dont know what trick this could be, maybe MH could give some good tips ?!
