I am a newbie to Openplane so bear with me here. On the night version of the Ju88 I copied a bomb pylon and fliped it upside down and stuck it on top of the fuse so I could put the V1 plane/rocket I have ben working on up there. Well, that all worked good, I got the V1 up there but there is one problem. The V1 is upside down! The V1s engine is clipping right thru the fuse. So heres my questions: (1) How do I flip the V1 over with out flipping the pylon? (2) Do we have a way to model guided rockets? (3) MH, is it possible to man a plane launched from another plane even tho the game 'thinks' is a bomb/rocket when its actually not?
Thanks for your help!

Please forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know, but from my books, the V-1 was located under the wing and launched there (just like a torpedo)...I have a plastic model of a He-111 with a V-1 under the wing if you want a pic...

Jeeves, Hehe I knew that. But we dont have a He-111 and this bomb mount is just for testing purposes only. I wanted to experiment with Openplane so I did. But I still need my questions answered. Soon I will put a mount under the Ju-188 where the V1 doesnt clip thru the wing.

1. Try inverting the V1 lods in the V1 SM. that SHOULD work.

2. IF you set the control surfaces on the V1 to move by 4 unnassigned keys, you should beable to guide the missile that way.

3. Maybe if you set up the V1 as a gunners position, except, instead of moving a gun around, you move the control surfaces. The only problem you would have then is making the V1 detach. As far as I know, you can't have manned ordanance in FS yet. The V1 would haveto be part of the plane.

Heay Jeeves, you Dauntless picture isn't working!

oohhhhh you don't have a 3D program do you (AC3D or 3DSMax)? Well (Not sure if this will work) but can you see the V1 in OPS? of so, then just invert the model there. If not, I assume the V1 is a seperate SM. Open the SM in OPS, and flip the lods around. (This might fudge up the F/M though)

Good Luck!

Jag, Hehe, I have no 3d program. I tried your idea in OPS and it does screw up the FM. Question: What tells a pylon which way(upside down or rightside up) a bomb/rocket is facing in OPS? There has to be something. I mean, if I switch the pylon upside down the bomb/rocket thats attached to it switches upside down too, so it has to be something with the pylon.

hhhmmmmm.. I'll haveto look into this, I'm not sure right now. Obiously it's something on the launching plane, because the V1 is normal any other time.......right? Select the pylon in OPS and look through the properties lists, it must be in there.

I'll get back to you on this.

Jag, If I have the pylon right side up then yes the v1 is right side up as well. Ive checked the pylon properties and didnt see anything obvious on why. Do you want me to send you the v1 I am testing with? Then all you have to do is get a bomber and have a loadout as a v1 and fool around if you like. Just make sure you tell the v1 to be a rocket in the loadout ppf file of the bomber.

Ok, as for the guided idea. Am I doing this right? Under Proplist of the Left airleron called airleronL I typed this (dofID 'airleronL dofOsc (oscName 'airleronL oscRuntime 2 oscParent 'Ju88G7b oscCmd 'cmdV1Left) I have cmdV1Left defined under the keyboard.inp Im not getting any response when I launch the V1 and press the button I assigned to do it. Any ideas?

SUre, send me the V-1, the Ju88 file, and any other files nedded to make it run.

I think it will only work if the V1 is actually in the Ju88.SM file.
