As most of you know I am working on the Fw Triebflugel. Anywho, I need to make a new spinning prop texture. So, how would I go about doing this?

Thats quiet simple ! I use PaintShopPro :

1. open the old .tif file in PSP
2. open -->Masks-->Load From Alpha Channel

now you see the current alpha channel (what else ) from the old .tif file

3. CLOSE this file !!!

OK. The new one:

1. create a new image (64x64 or whatever size you want, 16 Mill. Colours)

2. paint the shape of the prop with black and do some "bluring" or "smudging" till it looks like you want

3. open -->Masks-->New-->From Image...-->Create Mask From: Source Luminance --> check "Invert Mask Data" --> OK

4. now you see the final result, next step moves the mask to the alpha layer:

5. -->Masks-->Save to Alpha Channel-->OK -->OK (dont care about the name)

6. -->Masks-->Delete

click NO (= dont merge the mask to the current layer)

7. fill the whole pic with the colour of your prop blades (black) and add a coloured ring or whatever to it

8. check if the alpha layer still contains your blured shape of the prop

9. save and try it out

Hope that helps !

CRAZY TRIEBFLÜÜÜGEL !
