My enhanced Ju88a4 is posted here: http://sdoegazette.free.fr/files/ju88a4stefv4.zip I need people to test it, as I have some random (?) errors occuring. Gauges are reflecting damages inflected to engines but: - they all work - only temp and FuelPsi work Can't find what goes wrong. It maybe Open Plane itself. Point to be fixed: - due to engine duplication, the Ju88a4 has lost about 30 Mph. I'm not sure how to fix it. - real tank fuel have to be added The zip file includes a Ju88a4.sm and a test mission. Hope you will like it. Has been tested on AMD K6-233 with Creative's Voodoo Banshee (3dfx2's chipset) 16 Mb. Report bugs, comments here or at email address.

Too bad. "Free" is either doing some maintenance, or they do experience a problem with users webspace.Try later in the day.

I haven't extensively tested it, but I like it. The different smoke colours depending on damage are cool, and at last I could shot down a few of them with those .303 guns. I mean in the previous version the Hurricane was totally unable to shoot down a Ju88 - I literally filled them with lead and nothing happened. Now, what about some feedback on the Tempest beta I sent to you IP: Logged |

Info I have got on the Ju88a1 with 1200Hp Jumo,s shows top speed as 286 mph at 16000ft, service ceiling 26500ft. At the end of the Battle of Britain the Ju88 was used most of all due to its higher speed than the He111 etc , in Jan 42 Basil Embry was sent by Tedder to Malta to report on the defence, which was at the time provided by Hurricanes against attacks of Ju88's escorted by Bf109F,s, he reported back that these were inadequate both in armament and speed against the 109s and 88's which they could not catch up to unless from a greater height. On 7th march in response to this report the first Spitfire MkVs flew off HMS Eagle destination Malta, 59 were flown in in two trips. We need to set the speed of the Ju88 to be just less than the hurricane but catchable with a Spit V if this info is correct. Info on Hurricane1 with 3 blade metal prop shows 325mph so 286mph seems reasonable. Mk2 Hurri shows as 345mph higher ceiling. IP: Logged |

you 're certainly right commando i think that till the ju is unreachable by a spit it's still to fast. i just tried to follow a ju with the spit in the first mission fo the jeeves's campaign in africa and i could do that only when it speed down for landing,i just want to avoid this kind of stupid things. anyway if the new speed will be 286 or269mph but please make her slower. thanks Stef------------------ -=BAB=-lfbpro IP: Logged |

STef, your .sm makes it impossible for the Ju 88 to take off. Neither the AI or I can get her above 22 mph on the runway then she goes into an uncontrollable veer to the right. When I remove your .sm everything is back to normal. Better luck next time. IP: Logged |

Opps the books could be wrongQuote fron Test pilots notebook mentioned in post in general area. "Ju 88 (dated 15 January 1941) as fast as 550-600 kmph. For landing 150-160 kmph. Good for flying, not so good for landing (too fast)." 550 to 600 Kmph = 343 to 375 mph Who's right ?????

New version fixing speed problem on take-off and speed mismatch with older version is posted here: http://sdoegazette.free.fr/files/ju88a4stefv41.zip Same installation procedure I will try to fix speed problem regarding data that have been provided later. What I'm interested in at the moment is instruments feedback especially when damages occurre on engines: - Manifold pressure - RPM - Oil PSI - Fuel PSI There seems to be problems from time to time. It seems to be depending on a previous flight with the plane or not without relaunching the game... :p Also, Oil and Fuel PSI doesn't seem to be working properly if the plane starts in flight. SDOE's engine bug IMHO. Cheers, ------------------ P/O STef Editor http://stephan.bondier.free.fr/gazette.html IP: Logged |
