Does anyone have a photo taken from inside the P-47 cockpit and that shows the canopy closed?Bjorn and I are going to make the P-47 canopy open and close, so I need to know how the sliding action works... I know that behind the pilot there is a rail that the canopy slides along, but I'm trying to figure out how the two rails and locking mechanisms along the right and left side of where the pilot sits are involved. I have tons of cockpit photos, but every single one shows the canopy completely open... very frustrating. I would base it on the Jane's cockpit, but I have a feeling that they fudged it. IP: Logged |

You might have a look over at www.combatfs.com where the builders hang out for MS CFS. The cockpit files in the add-on planes usually have a .bmp file of the main panel, and a lot of the add-ons have actual photos they've used to model their cockpits. I got 3 pretty good pix of the Corsair cockpit this way. I'll bet they have several Jugs...------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Thanks, I'll try that, but I was under the impression that CFS only allows for the front view panel and not the side and rear views... which are what I need. Are you saying that some of the user made panels have the side and rear views? The default planes don't... which, coincidently, has always been a gripe of mine regarding CFS :-)IP: Logged |

JT, I have a good shot of the P47 cockpit that shows the rails. I will email it now. It is a big file. Lots of detail.------------------ Raider 33rd~GS Raiders Site

Thanks... does it have the canopy closed, though? I need to see how the inside of the canopy frame is seated on the rails. I haven't been able to find any photos from inside the cockpit that show the canopy closed. Send whatever you have, though.
