...make something BOUNCE?Not gonna tell you what I'm workin on, but suffice it to say it will be REALLY cool if I can get it to work. The thing is, it hinges on being able to bounce. I've tried giving it wheels, and it bounces sometimes, but other times the object is just destroyed and the wheels survive. I suppose I could just make the whole thing a wheel, but I kind of need to give the object some other properties as well. Any ideas? And if you DO know how to make it bounce, is there ANY way it can bounce off WATER??? If I tell you any more, it'll give it away, and I don't want to spill it until I know if it can even work...

Try setting the material to rubber. I don't think it is going to bounce on water though.IP: Logged |

Well- Whenever I have seen someone crash into the water (this never happens to me BTW )- there are pieces of the wing (nonexplosive pieces) that skim along the surface like a flat rock and eventually sink. Is there a way to make said Dambuster out of this material and with enough momentum- get it to skip into the side of a dam (if that was what you wanted to do )------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Hehe Snickers is a little bit off on his numbering system...and that's all I'm sayin, dammit! Rubber, eh? Thought about that, but wasn't sure just how to do it. Guess I'll break out the old OP.docs... This might be a good time to start practicing flying really low, tho...and pulling up. ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Saw a doccumentary film a long while ago. Britain, Germany and the USA flirted with skip bombing during WWII. They had footage showing: 1st the brits- they accurately skip bombbed their targets. (ships and dams) 2nd U.S.A.- Flying in low, bombs away (my god aren't they a little too low? And what are they flying over? looks like solid ground)The bombs exploded on impact forcing the tail of the plane upwards. The result was a flaming fuselage racing along the ground. (but I had to laugh) 3rd and finally. Germany- Flying over ocean. Black star wars probe looking thing drops from plane. Not long after this a flame jets from the bomb. The bomb skips, and bounces so fast and high that it bounces over the target ship and races for 4km before impacting into a beach. Coooool (but i had to laugh)Tiger IP: Logged |

Britain wanted to use the skip bomb (smaller version of that used against the dams) to sink the Scharnhorst, it was to be dropped by Mosquitoes, and yes, the tests went very well, I can't quiet remember why the raid was canclled though.IP: Logged |

Well, the rubber didn't work (although it DID make the thing bounce on LAND great!) I WAS able to get an AIRPLANE to bounce off the water about 3 times, but only if I trimmed it slightly on each bounce.I'll continue with that line of thought I think... ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |
