I'll try to explain the problem best I can. Firstly, after following Dans little tutorial in the other thread I got a texture onto the Yamato Hull.. but (couldn't you guess) this texture doesn't lie flat on the whole deck of the ship, just parts of it, in other arewas it's twisted. I think this might be a problem with the faces that form the deck, but I'm not sure, so I'd be grateful for any further tips it allowing me to straight out the deck texture.

Also, I'd like in the same tif to map the deck and the sides seperately, can you give me any tips on that? Like do I still map planer or box?

Thanks guys, everything posted before has been a great help, just a few more "tips" needed

To map different faces on the same object in max:

-Select the object
-choose 'mesh select'
-select the faces you want to texture
-choose 'UVW map'
-map those faces
-choose 'mesh select'
-select other faces you want to texture
-choose 'UVW map'
-map those faces
