Yeah, this was my last thought before I go to bed (half hour ago) ! And Yes, I got a rough idea: The "hit-detector" say your pilot is wounded, i.e. the dmg is set to 25 percent. Now itīs time to unhide one light red tinted transparent poly directly in front of the pilotīs view (can you follow me ? ). We also start a nice small fire below his ass (sorry for that, itīs macabre I know) wich slowly increases "damage" to the pilot (It might be necessary to give the pilot huge max obHits, like 1000 or so - is it posible to change the obHits in flight (for the "kill_him function" when he gets a bullet in his head ?)). When dmg goes to 30% we unhide the next red tinted transparent polys in front of the first poly and so on till the screen is red. Parallel to this we could add some weird things to the wings etc. so that the plane is harder to control or even it starts spinning. In the end there might be 10 or so transparent polys and that might slow down the game, but hey youīre dieing and thats not a good time to think about FPS rates and stuff. Uff - its late... Hehe couldn't you start a bigger fire under his butt if he gets hit in the head? Or maybe an explosion? I would think you could obDetach an aileron at some damage level, and then unHide a "fake" aileron taking its place with no aero effectiveness, and that would make it harder to roll the plane. Could do the same with the elevator...------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

From my tests on the Ju88a4, it doesn't seem we can change obHits. I made a test with a function that contained a new obHits value that was supposed to override the old one and it didn't work. Though malfunction it may come from something else. I have to recheck everything. The fire is very... hum... boring to play with.Hope it helps. ------------------ P/O STef Editor http://stephan.bondier.free.fr/gazette.html IP: Logged |

Hmm - the fire works on the I-16 pilot, only thing is that you cant make it too big, cause than it becomes visible from the outside. Anyway Iīll test this sometimes.IP: Logged |
