I think I just found out what causes some planes to bounce when you start on an airfield (until you release the breaks.) I've not checked all, but all of them that I have checked, have a wheelBreak property on their tail wheel. When I removed it, the planes didn't bounce anymore. I believe it's probably safe to remove the breaks from the tail wheel, because even if the planes historically did have breaks there, the total effect on the stopping distance must be close to none at all. Probably the break would've been there only to make sure the wheel wasn't spinning when entering the well.

bjorn-

Be aware that some of us are keeping the tailwheel brake on purpose on the WWI aircraft. Since the real aircraft did not have wheel brakes we are removing the wheelbrakes for the main gear up front. We are leaving the wheelbrakes on the tailskids to simulate drag. This seems to work pretty well for these planes!

bjorn, You are the Man. We could just remove the rear brake of the planes that bounce. Good work.

Ronin,

I don't think that's a problem with the WWI planes. Probably the reason they bounce is that all wheels have breaks, and the tail wheel shock absorber probably also has something to do with it. It might be that altering the damper would work too, as it seems there's a tension between the main gear and the tail gear, causing an oscillation. However, just dropping the tail gear break means there will be no tension, and thus no oscillation.

I fixed it without removing the tailbrake (wich doesnt make the Pe2 bounce). The reason for the bounce-Pe were the completly wrong placed DOF´s on the tail gear, I fixed it (and add a tirebrake prop) and it works fine. Just to keep you informed
