I've always had trouble killing that thing, but for the 1st time I noticed something happen..... it does have that lame explosion.... it sinks!!! Very wicked to watch, love it to bits.... now tell me... may I copy your code.. heh.. I know.. pushy and un-original I am... but it's so cool having the ship sink, never ever seen that happen, in the past I've hit them with so many bombs and nothing happend, now they sink after 2 good hits.. maybe I got a newer version recently, but I don't remeber.. Anyway, I've never seen a post about it before, and reallt wanted to say what a cool idea, and really well done  ~Nat~ ------------------ JV~44 "Naturlich" If you can't beat em.... out run em! there again, you could go buy a shiny new F4U, and kick some butt!!! <b>Nats FS-SDOE Site</b>

Somewhere, there is a sinking Exeter, as well. Sure you can steal my code, I've probably stolen yours before . I also tried to get the cargo hatches and mast to blow up (or obDetach). I don't think that part works well.IP: Logged |

I've not seen that happen yet, but I love it sinking.. got the Akizuki doing it too now.. I kust wish we could make them sink more slowly, I lowered the phyLBS right down to 1 on both parts of the code, but still it sinks like a brick, shame we peobably can't fix that, maybe big ship (Akagi?) will be easier to watch sinking because of their bulk. I'll have a tinker some more before I release the final version of the Akuzuki to see if I can get the obDetach going for the turrets and masts.. it'd look way cooler, right now it burns and smokes alot.. add flying turrets and that'd be way cool.Thanks WW, cool piece of work undercover that Cargo ship  IP: Logged |

A more percise method would be to add a base object (smaller than the ship), give it children that call different functions when the obHits on the childeren reach a certail level. The functions call DOF's attached to the base. You then can simulate area specific damage by lists and fires. A bit more work than I wanted to do at the time, but Pete Hawk has proven that it does work rather well.IP: Logged |

Nat and Whirlwind- Great work both of you! I just finished D/Ling the Cargo and Destroyer and as I sat there looking at the torpedo fly off I was wondering can that torpedo be attatched to any other plane...preferably the Ju88 as it did see some antishipping missions? Also can the Destroyer fire them off as well? IP: Logged |

DiegoJu88 - kind of, the proper mounting for torpedo's on a Ju88 would neet to be know, then you just copy/paste/position a bomb mount to the proper place, change it's obOrdinance (I think it is that) to 'rocket (check punctuation). Just remember the mount point's part name, and use that in the loadout.ppf. I did change the mount point on the Zero and it looked rather good, aside from the torpedo being too short and not quite the right diameter. That fin needs it's poly's fixed. I should be in the mood to work on it later this week. I am not sure about the destroyer. I am surprised no one has done any rocket artillery pieces, just to try. IP: Logged |

Dieago, the Destroyer has a Quad Torpedo mount, as per the acctual ship, but at the moment it's inactive... thats because no-one has found a way to actually launch torpedos across water without them takig damage.. but if thats solved, they can be added.Biggles.. hang 5 on the Destroyer, I'm posting the final version tonight, after some help from mposis the AAA guns are working correctly now, the paint scheme has been altered and more upperworks have been added.. and oh, this ship dies a beautiful death I don't know if I should be thinking that about my ship.. lol, but it's true, after enough hits you'll see the ship burst into smoke and flames, then after a time it'll sink from the damage... looks well cool!! I sat and watched it atleast 4 time last night  The link for it is below, on my site in the Ground Units section. But check to see that it's listed as the Final version, not the Beta1 ~Nat~

WW- I'm curious how you call a DOF using a function? I've tried to figure this out, but have been stumped so far... the only way I can figure to do it is to activate it with a key press.charm IP: Logged |
