Hey guys, would someone be kind enough to list me some steps in changing a MAX file to an SM file. I have I think all the tools.. OPS, Hippies tools, and some that were in a zip file called awlod or something like that.

I've been tinkering and wanted to creat some basic none historical ground units for the Japs, so afet a little cutting, exporting and importing, I have a ground AA unit, save in MAX format, but I've no idea really how to make an SM from this.

Thanks guys, any help is good help

There is no direct way to convert Max files to .sm format. You will need to export Max files to .OBJ format in order to import into OPS. The plugin that allows you to do this is called Max2Obj and is available here...
http://www.habware.at/duck2.htm

You should also pick up Obj2Max while you are there. You will need Max to use these plugins.

I'm not sure if there's any way to do this outside of Max. I vaguely remember some people talking about a converter called Crossroads, but chances are that will only convert 3DS to OBJ.

I have Max and can convert your Max files to OBJ format if you can't find any other way. Don't hesitate to ask. My email is jtrivelli@adelphia.net

Good luck!

Thanks alot JT, I seem to remember getting those files, but I'll get them again just to be sure I'm gonna muddle on through for now, I find that best for me to learn, but if I get stuck, be sure you'll hear from me

Thanks
