Hi everybody!

The Ju 188 now has a top turret, but a whole afternoon of hard work didn't get it centered. I grabbed the top turret from the Lanc. Does anybody know a trick for getting the stuff centered and the DOFs aligned OK?
This one is obviously not aligned too well:

Another problem: how does a gun know where its muzzle-flash has to go? Does it have to do with the origin of the mesh? This isn'too much of a problem with smaller guns, but on this one it just looks wrong:

you know rough, you seem to be retty good at the cockpit glass area. Thats the worst part of anything i make. I want to redo the fuse for the P51B but i suck at the cockpit framing. If i was to send you a new P51B fuse, could you do the cockpit framing and glass for me?

Well, that's the fruit of two days of work :-) It took me quite some planning and two days of work, but the canopy frame is about the only thing I really have good info on. Razer, send the P51 over, I'll work over the cockpit-part.

Are you any good at turrets or DOFs?

Peter

RoyohBoy-
Did you try looking at the DOFs using OpenPlane 1.21's DOF viewing? You should be able to set them up there without too much trouble.

the plane is looking good!

I tried it in the lates OPS-version, and everything looked real good, but actually the whole turret-thing is still off-center. Well, I guess there is no trick but thinking before doing ;-)

Heya,

This may or may not help. But it has worked for me once

Try moving your lod/s in your 3d program towards the direction you want. Save the new lod, then in OPS, replace the old lod with the lod you just made. This takes patience and a bit of trial and error but it might work.

Good luck.

I just solved the turret-rotation problem! Here's how: I took a look at the .asc-file to see where the parent of the turret was centered (especially the X-coordinate). Since I was sure I had all the parts centered pretty good in OPS I went to the DOF-record of the turret and put in the X-coordinate I found for the parent object as the X-origin of the turret-DOF - and it worked!

Thanks everybody!
