Hi everybody!

I have just started making a Ju 188. Take a look at those pics:

The canopy is half-finished, but there's still a lot to be done: cockpit interior, new armament, FM-changes, etc. At the moment I'm getting the crew-stations right.

I haven't found too much info on this bird on the web, does anybody have good links, or maybe some info? I am especially looking for info on standard armament, both barrel and bombs, on the wings, and on some general stuff needed for the FM. How close was the 188 to the Ju 88B?

Thanks,

Peter

Armament: (A, D-1 and E-1) one 20mm MG 151/20 cannon in the nose, one MG 151/20 in dorsal turret, one 13 mm MG 131 manually aimed at rear dorsal position and one MG 131 or twin 7-92 mm MG 81 manually aimed at rear ventral position; 6614 lb. (3000 kg) bombs internally or two 2200 lb (1000 kg) torpedoes under inner wings.

What sort if info do you need?
I can get cutaways of all perfomance data weapon load etc, but i got no idea where to put it
perhaps e-mail?

BTW the nose looks wierd cause it was an attempt to pressurise the cockpit, which worked sucessfully.
Have you had any thought on doing the rest in the series (288, 388 etc)?

Pretty Schmick ol' boy,

I agree the 388 looks pretty cool. The 188 is hard to get used to. The 388J looks damn cool though.
The gun(big long 20mm) in the nose sits offset to the right.
The top turret gun is also offset to the right in a vaguely half-spherical shape. The 'half sphere' has a large circular flat spot to the front left.
I wasn't sure if you knew this so I thought I would tell you. I am fairly sure you must know this seeming as you have modelled the above so well.
Wings are 72ft 2inches 'tapered and extended'
horiz stabilizer's squared off and extended.
Have a little more on speed of A-series at altitudes if you like. from ju88 in action pt2 Squadron/ signal publications

Biggles and Tiger2,

any info is welcome, and no, I didn't have these. Dropping the stuff in an email is fine (peter.wuesten@gmx.de). All the info I had to begin with are a few pics of a mock-up Ju 88B and a handful of Ju 188 pics I got off the web (they're very small, though).

The Ju 388 would be a cool bird to model, but I have next to no info on this one. Whoever feels like making a 388 from the 188 when it's ready, go ahead ;-)

After I have sorted out some problems with the Ju 188 I can now see more clearly what info I need ('whatever you have' was a little un-specific;-):

1. A cockpit-view with instrument panel(s)
I have a cockpit-pic from a MS-FS Ju 188,
but it doesn't show the instruments.

2. Some pics of the forward-firing 20mm-cannon
or MG.

3. Scale-drawings of the wings. I'll have to
lenthen the wings to 22 meters, and I don't
know yet which parts are longer. Same goes
for the horizontal stabs.

4. Stats about fuel-load, speeds, weights, etc.

I know that's pretty much, but you have to admit that I got the canopy and turret to look pretty much like a Ju 188 ;-)

Here's a site on the Ju-388.

It has an awesome tour of the cockpit. Check it out! Maybe you can use some info there for your Ju-188.
