Finally got a chance to spend enough time on OPS to give the next version a bit of a test and package it up. Not to exciting but the obProb, Canopy DOF and 16 material limit on OBJ import is fixed. There are some remainants of half completed new features in there so don't worry too much about anything too new that doesn't work. Any problems please let me know. Thanks, Bryan!By the way, why don't the newer versions of OPS allow export to LOD format? I found that feature very useful. Also, not to nitpick, but... in future versions do you think you could make the camera mode button and the move parts button separate? I find I have to switch between those two modes a lot, so having them separate would make things a little easier. Thanks! [This message has been edited by JT (edited 03-23-2000).] IP: Logged |

Little more nitpicking. Bryan, you think you could make it so that them three taskbars doesn't have to be moved back into one row every time you restart OPS?IP: Logged |

JT : The plugin interface changed in about 1.0.2 (or something like that) to support the import of poly flags and stuff and unfortunatly I didn't update the LOD plugin, mainly becuase I don't use it. It's not too big a job, just need some time.Perhaps some shortcut keys for the modes, would that help? Kraftwerk : I'll have a look. SV : I got the one on the 21st March, Sorry I havn't replyed yet. I havn't had time to sit down and do an "intelligent" (very loose term ) response yet. I will soon.
With regards to the obProb's, The current thing is a bit quick and dirty to get it to work. I was thinking about something like a list box with the propobility in one column and the corresponding proplist in the other, or maybe just the probs, as child nodes under obProb with a formated proplist under that. What do you think? Any better suggestions? IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Yeah I second the Request for the tool bars to be all lined up instead of stacked like that. I wouldn't mind having it open up full screen either. Mine always opens half open. Thanks for the new version too man. IP: Logged |

I only have v1 but I was wondering if you had managed to incorporate a feature to update paint schemes in the laster versions of OPS without having to restarting the program. It's not a major issue but as OPS is a great tools for checking textures with out going to the hassle of launching a game mission, anything than would improve the speed of doing these schemes would be a great help ------------------ Yardstick painted this

Or Bryan, How about the ability to launch FS from OPS using the default aircraft. The FS 2000 aircraft editor has a button that lets you 'test the plane'. When you push the button, it launches FS 2000 with your aircraft at the default starting location. I wonder if you could tweak OPS so it could have a launch button that would launch your plane to a hangar mission or something. The way it is now, FS wont even run with OPS open, so you have to shut it down. I also like Yardstick's idea too....That way you could have your plane and your graphics program open at the same time. If you can reset the view it would save a lot of time...expecially when you are at the critical 'paint by the pixel' phases. DanW,Great idea! But we should use the OP demo for this, it loads much faster. Bryan, the OP demo runs off a demo.mis mission. I'm not exactly how this could be done, but it would be slick -Sv IP: Logged |

Thinks working together depends on lots of things. I can have MAX, OPS and SDOE running (SDOE in flying mode)... most of the time anyway.Doing the launch demo game is just a bit of text editing on Demo.mis. Probably lots of other little tricks to it but I'll think about it. Personally I just have SDOE running in window mode at the last screen just before the Training Takeoff launches. All thats needed is one button press in SDOE, and then when the training mission ends is back at the "launch" point again. The reload texture thing shouldn't be too hard so I'll try to hack something up soon. IP: Logged |
