Spanky here.. Yep had ALL KINDS of fun.
I tried clicking on the setup.exe for used mother board i picked up and instead of coming up with the normal screen telling you what it was and what version the drivers were. It just went to town and started installing Ali drivers over my LX MoBo ones.
You can imagine what windows thought of that.
All it messed up though was i had no CD roms. And the hard drives and virtual ram were in MS-DOS compat mode.
I ended up going into Safe mode and taking out all hard and floppy drive controllers and everything under SYSTem devices.
Just like Razor 747 advised for changing the MoBo
that worked but my CD roms weren't there to get drivers off of still.
I pointed windows back at windows/system and everything was cool except vid card after around 15 reboots.
THen i got the vid fixed
Now as a result the cd rom and burner are back and now with the old vid card drivers.
AC3D NOW WORKS.
you knew there was a reason this was in tech talk right?
So there you have it
Finally i can use the tool i'm used to again.
Look for more from me in the future now that i can use it again.
