Spanky here...

For those of you that use max and are not on the OPP mailing list. Here is a beta tweaked release of the Max2Obj plugin.

here is how the maker of the plugin explained the latest changes.:

I followed the obj thread, and your right, the obj exporter changes the
order of the vertices in the export file, when you export quads. It
shouldn't be a big problem at all, as the link of vertices to texture
vertices is kept, which is the essential thing for texturing. All in all
it's not a good deal to change the geometry, so I fixed it.
Attached you should find an archive with a new version of the Max2Obj
exporter. It fixes several bugs in Version 3.0 (Jul 11th, 1999)
1/ the vertices are not reordered on export (your problem)
2/ a crash occured, when you tried to export to quads and there was a
single triangle left with an invisible edge
There's still one thing in it, which has to be fixed:
1/ when you scale your geometry with negative values, the normals areflipped.
The version you get is beta but you can give it to others for testing.
Any comment and suggestion is appreciated.

Ciao

Hi, Hab!

Any chance we will be able to export polygons with more than 4 verts soon.... In other words polygons more complex than tris or quads?
We need this pretty bad because it helps us greatly reduce the polygon count.
