All artwork is complete.

The script for the sounds has been finalised (many thanks to Redback for his research on this).

Pre-recording tests have commenced. This should be finalised over the next week. Recording to follow then.

Work has commenced on two aircraft to be released either with the pack, or as seperate downloads released at the same time (size dependant).

Don't get too excited .... the aircraft are different variants of existing ones - but they did serve in the RAAF. They are :

1) CAC CA-18 Mustang Mk 21 (different engine/weight/10 rockets instead of six/3d exhaust); and

2) Spitfire Mk VC (further investigation required here, but it will have the 'tropical' pack).

It may still be a little way off yet, so don't hold your breath for a release date (Just started my Masters in IT, so things are getting busy !)

Cheers,

AGAS 5

Heya AGAS 5,

That's great to hear...France is also coming along nicely. Release #2 shouldn't take as long now that we know what we're doing You did make sure and take out any punctuation or other non-alphanumerics, right? This was causing problems with the new squads showing up online. Can't wait to see your results!!

Thanks guys.

There's no punctuation in the Sqn names. There quite simple i.e. '1 Squadron' '75 Squadron' etc.

No mod for the Dauntless to a 'Wirraway'? I think that is what Austrailia's go at a bomber was called. If you have the gumption, it look like the CA-13 has garnished the most votes for 2nd in the Lost Boyds site (the IL-2 is partially done).

Thanks Whirlwind.

I hadn't thought about the Dauntless. The Wirraway was a licensed built copy of the T6 Texan. Some minor 3d work should bring it close though.

As far as the CA-13 goes - I'd love to see that up and going. I'm a bit hesitant to take it on though. My building abilities at the moment allow me to change existing aircraft to different variants and then usually encountering many problems. I'd like to have a look at your ported model and would be willing to assist anyone else that'd like to take it on.

Cheers,

Keep up the great work AGAS!

The Wirraway was definitely not designed as a bomber. It was designed as a trainer and the Aus govt was caught out when the Japs made it south so quick. It was the only 'fast plane' they had to put up against the Zero, so it didn't last long.

Where is the Dauntless up for DLing?

You're right there Thunder. That's the point I was trying to make about it being a variant of the Texan (ie a trainer). There's still a place for it in FSDOE though I reckon (even if it is just cannon fodder for the Zero's).

And Thunder, there's an email heading for ya shortly.

Cheers,

AGAS 5

oops, nearly forgot .... the Duantless is currently pre Beta and is headed for the Ops guys (I think) for a combined effort to get it finalised. Mate, even those holes in the ailorons(?) are going to be done - which may or may not be difficult - but is certainly time consuming.

Werner,

The latest.

Have encounted tech problems recording on my PC (consistant static from the mic - and not one that could be incorprated as 'radio hash'). I have an idea though, I'll approach the audio/visual department at my work and see what they can do (ie borrow their equip !!)

I'm in no rush at the moment, with all the ...ummm.... how can I put it.... ummmm ....oh yeah - shit happening with the whole issue of contest/downloads/PP/parfile and stuff. It's a real turn off.

Also have real world priorities to attend to.

Cheers,

Just a thought Agas, but have you considered using your stereo system, record it to tape the play it back throught the line in socket using your Audio suite to record fro mthe line in..

Just a thought anyways, looking forward to the new Nation If you ever want any help maybe putting together an Australian Nation skin pack, let me know, we'll have a talk about putting one together (if you haven't already)

Good luck
