OK, Version 4 of the Corsair is up. Flight model tweaked--takeoff and landings easier, but not easy. Airplane will spin now if you're hamfisted enough New sounds added, new missions added, new gunsight, fixed pilot, new shadow (thanks Razer!)

The file is called F4uVer4.zip. No patch this time, since the patch turned out almost as big as the whole enchilada. You probably want the whole thing now anyway--lots of file references have changed.

Get it here:
http://sites.netscape.net/jeditaub/Downloads/

And hopefully here:
www.fshangar.com

(a little later on)

For you mission-hacker types, there is also a version with the wings folded for placement on carriers and whatnot. It's called
ParkHog.zip. You will need the main Corsair file as well, because all the texture references are to the main one. Only a couple of missions included for the parked Hog, just to fool around with.

Enjoy!

I just posted Beta 4 on the hangar. you can find it in the planes section.

Jedi i'm going to redo the shadow again, it has some uneven corners and other small things that i don't like. i'll send it to you when i get it finished.

Enjoy!

Excellent! I tried to tinker with it, but I just ruined it Fortunately I saved the one you sent me. I think the shadow stuff is kinda "graduate level," and I'm still kinda "high school" level

Holy crap... that screenshot almost looks like a real photo. You should post that in the prop forum of Combatsim.com

I think you can overwrite without any problems, but you can probably save a little disk space by deleting the old stuff first (or maybe just move the F4u1 folder someplace "safe" just in case) Version 1 had some extranneous texture files and stuff. V4 has been streamlined some. Also, the old missions sometimes crash when you try to run them with a new .sm file.
