Yes thats right I said better than, there could be a great many things people could do to make things better in sdoe. Like diffrent times of day on SDoe, like on EAW. DO any of you know how beautiful your b-17 would look against a dimming sunset, or how about night missions, can you imagine your spitfire returning from a mission under the stars? or even rain? And where the hell are all the towns, and all the little people to shoot? I am out to make sdoe the best ww2 flight sim on the net, by word of mouth. But imagine all the new people that come online because of these things. Please give me your feedback on my suggestions.IP: Logged |

Hmmmm you obviously spend more time on the ground then I did in eaw. What people running around are you talking about? And where are the moving ailerons and rudder, where are the beatiful 3d clouds, where is the corsair the zeke or a real flyable bomber even half as well done as our beta manchester?I have EAW and removed it when i bought sdoe, prolly never load it again on my system, maybe EB gimme 10 bucks for it when i trade it for B-17 2

Cue, The troll ain't gonna work. We just got rid of our last troll...the honorable Mr. Scharmers. There is no sunset in SDOE, and there never will be....so it's not worth it. People play SDOE for various reasons, just like they do EAW, CFS, WWII Fighters, Luftwaffe Commander, Nations, WarBirds...etc. Just leave us alone and go away. We have a contest coming up in a few weeks...........so some of us are very busy. IP: Logged |

i am, by no means, saying that eaw is superior to sdoe, but i am just try to tell people ways that sdoe could be better. I also like the theme music, and the hall of fame idea for EAW, and i hope that some of these things will make it on to the next plane pack, all in all, i think that sdoe is a much better and realistic game, but EAW gets you closer to a vanished era than sdoe does.Cue IP: Logged |

Dan W, I am offended by your "leave us alone" statement, i guess that i was just trying to get it closer to "the way it was" But it is obvious now that people just see it as a game, and it is, im in the wrong spot, people here are just gamers, I wonder If you hold any thought to what truly happened, i dont know about you, but have you ever thought about what has the world come to today.. People killing people, dragging them down, making fun of others, making them feel like nothing more than trash, none of these people have a dammed idea of what we faught for, and sorry dan, i shouldnt have expected you to understand. Im not as bad of a guy as you see me. And again, i say that i am in the wrong spot. I thought that people here would want a few suggestions. And Dan... if you are busy, then why take the time to post a reply to me and try to bring me down.IP: Logged |

It isn't possible to do most of what you suggest with openplane. We can make planes, but weather, sunsets and the like would require changing the game engine and the user cannot do that. IP: Logged |

You are right. The little guys running around when you fly low level in EAW is very cool. If you guys haven't seen that yet, fly around some towns very low and you'll see Germans running around in trenchcoats. My biggest "like" with EAW is the sky/horizon. You can see WAY out and still see the ground. It has a nice realistic look to it. Other than that though, SDOE all the way for me. IP: Logged |

I never liked the little guys running away when a plane went down in EAW because it was usually me. I am offended that you took the time to mention something that took me an hour to make, DanW . EAW has less parts per plane, and therefore can have more planes in the air. All the weather effects would be nice (we do have a rainbow on the Dover map). I didn't like EAW because the SA was wrong for me, the planes felt wrong, and no matter what plane I flew, it bled E 50 times faster than the AI ever did. I did like EAW for the hundreds of AC in the air, and the huge terrain. It just wasn't as much fun as SDOE, even though I love to hate it and hate to love it. Cue doesn't know what OpenPlane can do and not do under SDOE, so his questions and comments are legit. Our response should have been, 'we wish we could!' Such harshness..... IP: Logged |

IMHO, the sunrise/sunset in WW2 Fighters is the nicest I've seen. 'Nations' has the best cloud effects, you can get lost in the overcast and when you fly under the clouds your plane and the ground is dark. The stars and sunset are very nice there too. EAW although a great sim isn't really tops in these areas TS [This message has been edited by Tailslide (edited 03-02-2000).] IP: Logged |

DanWGosh, sorry to get off topic, but that P47 is the best looking thing I have ever seen in SDOE!!!! My God, it's gorgeous!!!!! I have enjoyed all your work, but buddy, you have topped yourself! PR=FC= p.s. I like EAW. It's a great game, and like SDOE it has it's own limitations. Also like SDOE, it's great user community is getting the most out of what they have to work with.

Oh DanW, that P-47 is a masterpiece by the way! The skin is equally so. Has a nice metallic look to it. Keep up the great work. I appreciate all the hard work everyone does to give us more add ons. Good luck on your job. dauntless851 [This message has been edited by dauntless851 (edited 03-02-2000).] IP: Logged |

Sorry guys, I took the pic down. I was not supposed to post it, but after a fit of rage I did. So now its gone. Thank you for the compliments. That's why I spend hours on this stuff....people appreciate it. The contest will be over in a few weeks, so it wont be that long before you can fly the Jug all you want. It's gonna be awesome. It's not worth getting into a pissing match over. When some prick sends you an email to your private address and calls you a jerk, then its time to quit. I will post thorough screenshots of the Jug when it's okay with Team Jug. Thanks, Dan IP: Logged |

I like both games and play both. EAW have good points and SDOE too. CFSII will have a beautiful Pacific Terrain and ....... What we want is a good sim with all these good points, so letīs fly! This discussion is boring. IP: Logged |

Everybody here who flys this game or creates stuff for it loves it. Whats wrong with that? Why somebody feels the need to publicly announce why they shouldn't love it is beyond me.....Another thing, I own EAW, I realise it may be a more accurate recreation of the Air War than SDOE, but so what? I enjoy this game more, and I LOVE the open ended creative element to it. Much as I respect the courage of the people who actually did this for real, I dont fly this game as a homage to them. I also dont believe there is any disrespect in that either..IP: Logged |

Hmm have I read this wrong? I thought BBCue (barbecue?!) was saying that it would be great if we could get these things into Sdoe? Hell, so he compared some features of another sim that he thought would be nice to carry over."I am out to make sdoe the best ww2 flight sim on the net, by word of mouth." Doesn't suggest to me he was taking sdoe to the cleaners, he was on Sdoe's side, no?
