Hi everybody!

I got gunpods to work! Here's the Ju88C6 loaded with 20mm cannons:

and here it is loaded with two 3.7 cm antitank guns:

As you see the textures of the new parts I introduced still don't shade. Does anybody know why this is?

It's quite simple really. Try this: Make a loadout for the P-38 and give it no guns - notice how the gun barrels have vanished? Ah-ha!

Now to con someone into adding gondola cannons to the Bf109's...

Well then why havn't we done this before? A couple people have talked about it. It really like it but everyone always said you would ahve to make a whole new version of the plane to make it happen.

Juzz, I did it differently, but I haven't tried your approach yet. The gunpods are actually rocketpods in OP, but with no rocket loaded. This way you can make anything appear or disappear according to the loadout.ppf. The gunpods have different weights, and I still have to find out how to attach drag to them. Collision-points would be another thing to add. It's getting even better:
Here's an early C-6 equipped with Lichtenstein BC Radar

and here's a late one with Lichtenstein SN-2:

The Zerstoerer and the anti-tank-version have no Radar.
The cool thing is: If somebody modifies the Fw 190 accordingly we'll have Radar-equipped nightfighter-version, etc.
Some aircraft subtypes differred only in the shape of the canopy and such; this way we could pack several sub-types into one .sm-file. This might not be desirable, though, because you'd only use certain subtypes with certain skins.

Yeah! I got the 'schraege musik' (upwards firing cannons) from Lector's G7 to appear only on the late C6-version. I made it a child of the SN-2 antenna, and voila - no 'schraege musik' installation (including gunsight, etc.) when it shouldn't be there.

Now the only problem is this damned texturing thing: I got it to display about OK, but nothing I textured myself would shade. The rest of the plane is OK.

Woohoo, this is good news! Now I'm sure it won't be too hard to get some gondolas on the 109 or the 190 either. Bye bye, bombers!
With the weight, drag and airfoil stuff working, it would be cool to see how this affects the flight model.
