I have a stupid problem with the positioning of the prop. The only LOD I can position at all, is the stand-still variant, and it of course is as good as I can get it. However, when the prop starts spinning and it does a LOD switch, the propFast and others are a bit off. Not quite centered, and for some reason pushed into the engine cowling.

What's the trick here?

bjorn,

I make sure all the prop lods are in the same position when I load them in AC3D. If your stationary prop lod is in the correct location then put all the other lods in that location.

Thanks. I was so sure I already had LODs identically positioned, I never even thought of it as a reason.

I´ve got the same problem, but somehow I fixed it. I also read somewhere that the position of the fastprop shown up in OPS is not relevant cause it will show up in the same position like the prop (slowprop). Actually it works for me and the propFast is NOT positioned like the "stand-still prop" in OPS.

Ok - that didnt helps you much so I try to remember where I read something about this...SV Tutorials or the new OPS doc at the OPS side (Bryan´s side)...I also centered the propFast model to the worlds origin with the same pivot point as my slowProp...

I hope that helps you a bit !!!

It DOES NOT matter where the fast prop shows up in OPS. Just make sure that the fast prop and normal prop are both centered at the origin. The propFast is nothing more than an automatic model substitution. And all model substitutions will replace the current model with a new model using the local coords of the models in question.
