Question 634 in this month :

Can I move the Pilot/Pilots View along the Z-axis (with DOFīs) when I press a key ? I dont want to know how, only wanna know if it is possible.

I ask this cause the main panel of the I16 is in such an odd position that I canīt see the upper part of it. Also the view is so shitty that landings and taxiing/take off is very hard (cause you cant see anything).
So a pilot who can duck and stand up a little bit would be fine for the Rata.

thanks again !!!

Two more :

Does the obBodyPts order (V0,V1,V2,V3) in the OPS properties panel means anything ??? Or can I change and replace them like I want ?

After a sucessful test on the I-16 wingtip I noticed that the ailerons of the P51 didnt got any obBodyPts. So when the plane loses balance and the wingtip hits the ground the lowered aileron goes through the ground. I would add obBodyPts to the I16-ailerons (and elevators), are there any reasons not to do this ???

Thanks for your attention !!!

Control Numpad 7 shifts the point of view up. Control Numpad 1 shifts the view down. Other numpad keys will shift it sideways and back and so on. It's all on the keyboard reference card that comes with the game.

Ashes on my head ! I was so deep in DOF thoughts that I didnīt mind that !!! Thanks Michael ! I tested it and it works for the up-shift, but it lowers the view not enough for the main panel - Can I define the maximum lenght of the shift somewhere in the sm file for the rata ?

How would you guys solve this problem ???

I think your DOF approach is the right way if the standard view modifiers aren't enough. The other advantage is that you can move it and reset the view with one keypress and as fast as you want.

Any model with a parent can have a DOF so this will work.

Laika, You can assign Quick view of differnt
instruments.

Example (F9 = look at Fuel gauge)

Have you checked into this / will it help?

Raider - I didnt check this but I think this wont work cause a bif of the fuse/cockpit is between the main panel and the pilots view.

Iīll try to do this with DOFīs, it seems to be possible (thanks Bryan)

No answers, tips to the two other questions ?? It seems Iīll have alot of trial and error work in the next time

thanks anyway - LK out
