Is there a way to not have OPS import my model parts as not being semi-transparent -> black? Also, how am I getting transparent parts to begin with? I know it isn't the .lod because I just spent a few copying the original exports over the .lods from an extract. If it is a feature, can I toggle it on and off? I like the ability, just not now. For .OBJ import the transparency, colour and texture is all based on either material info in the associatted MTL file, or if that doesn't exist then the first polygon of the existing LOD.For the .LOD plugin, well It could do almost anything if it is used with versions of OPS later than the one it was released with as some of the ways import is done has changed. I'll probably update the LOD plugin some time, just not now. IP: Logged |

Actually it isn't very fickle. It does it for OPS 1.0 as well as 1.2... There seems to be a bit off or two. I might check AC3D 2.0 to see if it does export .OBJ files, if not, I'll just copy the correctly colored ones over the extracted ones. It is kind of neat seeing a partially transparent airplane flying about. I keep thinking, 'wouldn't it be great if the pilot was Wonder Woman?' IP: Logged |

I just had this happen a few times. I was working on some .lods, and they ended up transparent in OPS.When you open AC3D, the colors displayed default to various values for "shininess" and transparency. What apparently has to be done is that, once you finish working on the .lod, you must edit one of the colors, set its transparency to 0 and its "shininess" to the number of your texture (usually 1) and then export it. When you import the .lod, at the far right end of the color spectrum are the colors the .lod has to begin with. Check those to see if one is set to the right value for shininess/transparency, and "paint" the .lod with that color before exporting. (be sure to hide any surfaces that have their own special textures, or you'll "overwrite" that texture with the one associated with the color). ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

I think it was probably as far back as 0.7.8 or something the LOD import would have worked properly.IP: Logged |

I'll have to check that, jedi. I do have the texture set to 0 (shininess = 0) since I have no intention on texturing it yet.IP: Logged |
