You have to register the software for $40. That gets you access to the full version. Save is disabled on the shareware version. Now, if you HAVE the registered version, then something is definitely wrong if you can't save... ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Actually, you cant save an SM in Ac3d. You can though with a registered version, save as ASC or lods. I would suggest not using the ASC option.------------------ Zoycite {GS} GUNSLINGERS visit The War Paint Factory IP: Logged |

Good God, man, you mean that I have to export all 40+ parts of the Staaken by the move-part-to-(0,0,0)-export-to-lod-grab-next-part-repeat-as-necesary method? Blah, I was hoping for a non-textured beta for ya all to play with by at least Sunday (if not then, then after I finish the Viper). Now I just hope that I remember to move parts with DOF'd children as a group, get the DOF's position, then migrate the little beggar.Ahh well, so much for the .asc export (it does ok, but you need to have an existing plane to copy the LODs over, so you might as well just use OPS). Hippie gives you a nice start. IP: Logged |

You need:The registered AC3D beta version Hippie's latest plugins. Now you can use Hippie's extractor to turn the SM file into an .asc file and a whole buch of .lod files. You will also see an html file that shows you what parts of the plane are what LODS. Now you can import and export these LOD files into/out of AC3D. You can use AC3D to do 3D editing and texture mapping. It sounds worse than it is... if you don't fight the system ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!
