Well, I figured if I can't make a nice plane, at least I can try my hand at an old one. I'm working on a Bleriot XI, the first plane to cross the Channel, in 1909ish. So far it is mostly modeled (some cockpit work, landing gear (especially tailgear)). Texturing is terrible, and has some problems (these are strategic pictures). Flight model has problems... it is easy to get this baby up to 100 mph, which is about twice as fast as it is supposed to fly. Damage model hasn't even been touched. Anyhow, here is a link to some pics, and in a couple days I'll pass out a zip to those interested. (go to ble1.jpg, ble2, and ble3) http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Hero/1198/ble1.jpg cheers, charm IP: Logged |

Charmstar!Did you know that a Swedish pilot flew across the channel last year in a Bleriot replica to comemorate Bleriot´s achivement? I saw him fly with it here in Stockholm two years ago and it was great. You´d think he would be very careful flying such a construction, but his display had a lot of "action", tight turns and so on. /Robert IP: Logged |

That's a nice looking plane. If anyone would like to make a Etrich Taube I've got nice set of plans. How about an early war battle using rifles!Attila IP: Logged |

glad you guys are interested in the plane... I should have an early version available in the next couple of days... There are still plenty of problems right now though, mostly with the texture mapping, which I suck at.Spanky, 3 pics weren't enough? Well, hold on a couple days and you can try it out yourself. If anybody is interested in helping out a little with this plane (especially looking for help improving 3d model, making low detail LODs, and texture mapping), you can email me at: raulclouse@hotmail.com charm [This message has been edited by charmstar (edited 02-15-2000).] IP: Logged |

I love early aviation - that looks great! Talk to Nuum about how to do cool wires - those you have there are better for FPS though...Do you have a color 3-view of the plane? Are you using AC3D? What problems are you runing into with the texture mapping? To get the FM right on this sucka you really need a new airfoil. I am making the airfoil editor a top priority. I think I can do it by using the text verison of the airfoil files - I see that the OpenPlane demo uses this, so now I have a template! Keep up the cool work, I can't wait to fly this!!! How about sounds?
