Spanky here..

Hi guys i'm having probs with ac3d it doesn't show a cursor anymore. It still works but you don't see it draw a polygon as you do it. Only once you are done. You also don't see anything when you draw a box around stuff to highlight it nor when you move somthing ( you don't see the line pointing back to where it was so you can judge how far it moved)

I think its a GL thing as i put in GLsetup to put in the GL drivers to play the SOF demo.

its sucking huge
any ideas?
it worked fine before

AC3D is very buggy... VERY

Do you know what I need to do every time I run AC3D? Get this:

1. Open AC3D freeware version
2. Open AC3D registered version
3. Close AC3D freeware version
4. Close AC3D registered version
5. Open AC3D registered version

If I don't do anything fist before I open AC3D regd version I get a GPF error - back to desktop. If I don't do step 4 and 5 I get 1 ortho window that NEVER draws - and its always a different one!!!

LOL - do you know I would never had made one single OpenPlane object if I did not figure out the above steps? Read the first step of my SE5a - It took me a month+ just to get AC3D to work

I am scared every day that my AC3D will stop working again... it is hanging by a thread....

Sorry Spanky, I guess that doesn't help you, does it?

I've never had any of these problems or in fact problems of any kind with this program except for the maddening random tendency not to show textures in the orthographic views. (And I find that problem can be minimized by first loading the texture in that view as a background image.)

Sv, Same here. I open the Freeware version, minimize it, then open the Registered version. It did not always do this, I wonder if it happened when I updated to Direct X 7?

IT WORKS!!!!!

well pretty much.

I got a copy of opengl32.dll off falck and if i start the shareware ver. minumize then the regged it works
i can then shut down the shareware ver. the only thing is it leaves a little artifact of the pointer where i brought it in to the window but it works. Have to do some testing but i think it will.

what a wacky thing. Only would a computer act this stupid. Sometimes i really wonder if they are as great as we say they are.

Nope doesn't work SV. I'm going to chalk it up to a piece of shit software. nothing else has a hard time working on my computer. I'm not a computer newbie but it refuses to work.

Easy Spanky... man!

It is great software, but it's just shareware... it's not like a company or anything. I'm sure this guy does not own every system and every kind of video card for testing. From what I have heard I am one of the only people who has ever had the issue I have. Andy did try to help me too - but how much can you expect for $40?

Please take it easy... Geeeez

I occasionally get a MIA window with AC3D, but it usually stems from opening OPS or some other graphics program first. You should report your bugs to the guy who is working on it (I'm not sure if he is still alive or not since I had written to him and gotten no response.)

Turning the Hardware Acceleration down on my computer solved many problems, especially setting background images. Funny thing, but if I load Multigen, then load AC3D, it works fine. I suspect it's the rendering software.
