Well, there it is. It's actually texture mapped, but I don't have the textures loaded yet. Also, the cockpit is done, but I haven't brought that in yet. You're actually seeing a P-47 with a Spit canopy.
This screenshot shows it in downward spiral... which pretty well describes it's flight characteristics right now.

Must be a wicked spin - even the prop has been thrown out of place

I just positioned it in OPS. Everything is sort of loose.

She's almost ready for you, Zur... I've just got to get a few more things ironed out. Then I've got to see if Bjorn is still available to work on the moving parts... I'm pretty lost when it comes to DOFs and body points. I want to work on the cockpits while you guys get the plane operational and while Dan W. paints a skin for it. I've also got to get the lower levels of detail textured and in place.

OH SHI..... ? I didn't know this plane was Japanese?

And Spanky, how I did that? If you check out the freak face's properties you see that it's at this link: http://route89.com/~wacko99/smile

There are some more weird faces there.

Cu,
Poodle

Cool, thanks, Bjorn. I will send it ASAP. I want to do just a few more things before I send it. I'm trying to get as far as I can so you aren't overwhelmed.

... very carefully. I have 4 levels of detail for the fuselage, wings, and tail elements. The texture mapping of all those parts was a seemingly endless task, but I just finished today!

Dan W. will be doing the exterior paintjob for the first release. I may do one as well if I have time, but I'd rather work on cockpit stuff. With the exception of nose art, we're going to try to stay historical, at least for the first couple skins. Personally, I'd like to do Russian P-47 skins. Did you know that 200 Thunderbolts were sent to the USSR toward the end of the war?
Eventually, I'd like to have paintjobs for all the nations that received P-47s... Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Iran, China, etc...

Just an aside, we are making sure that the plane stays well under 1 MB of texture usage. I'd definitely like to put this plane up as a plane pack candidate.
