The other thread was becoming a pain to download, and began to encompass many projects, so I've decided to start this thread specifically for the Nations' Project First Release (Italy, Japan, Soviet Union). If you want to discuss something other than the nations above and/or the first release, please keep posting there - it will keep this thread tidy for those of us who are trying to finalize our first release. Thanks in advance. Japan is 100% finished and bug free, but Italy and Soviet Union are still missing a few things. The biggie here is sound files. Gterl is working on redoing the Italian sounds (he's done a really good job). The Russian sounds have been recorded, but are in four large wav files. We need a volunteer who is fairly adept at editing wavs to take on the dicing of Russia. If you want to do this, please post below and email me. I will add radio clicks to the Italian wavs once they are finished, and add the Italian and Russian wavs to data6.par when they are all ready. I will also start the readme file, and then send it to those people I know need to add things. You guys have put a lot of work into this, and I want to make sure you get due credit, so please email me with a brief list of what you feel you deserve credit for. Hi WernerI sent you a note about this. As I still have a digital sound studio (I'm producing some jingles for local radio stations) I could do the job for you... C-ya! Lector IP: Logged |

Lector,Thanks for the offer. I sent you the Russian files, and the Italian ones (thanks gterl!) too, in case you have the time. I grossly underestimated the amount of time I would have to spend on Physics this semester, so I'm having to unload as much as I can if I'm going to keep up. If you don't want to do it, please let me know and I'll try to find another taker. Btw, I think I started to send the files to your reg email address (sorry big time!) but I cancelled the send 1/2 way through, so I don't know if you'll see it or not. I did resend to the other address you provided. Poodle, exactly what files is the release missing now? Russian sounds, Italian sounds and the readme only, or is there more? Lector has done some amazing work on the Italian and Soviet wavs. The Italian ones are completely finished and ready to be par-ed, but there are a few soviet ones missing, so I've forwarded them all (soviet) to Tailslide so hopefully the missing ones can be located and recorded. I'm a bit afraid that this might have something to do with the fact that Russia doesn't use the o'clock system to locate bogeys, so we may have to, in fact, do without some of them. An interesting dilemma, anyhow.I've finally processed all the paintscheme updates on the BCATP that have been sitting in my mailbox for a week or more, so it's on to the readme and if I have time, a webpage. gterl- Would you please resend Combat10.wav? I deleted your zip after receiving the files back from Lector.Poodle- Are you going to roll all the wavs into data6.par now, or am I still going to do it? I was under the impression that was my job, but I won't argue if you want to do it . Tailslide- Please keep us posted about those russian wavs, we're down the the short strokes on this one now. Hi Werner, Par-ing the sounds was your job, but I figured we have to add all the other things to the data6 par too. I only need the Russian sounds, and then I can build my whole NATIONS folder into a data6 parfile. If it's only the sounds which go parred, it's allright if you do it, but otherwise we'll be sending files hence and forth, and I have to unpar your file so I can add my files to it, etc. Sorry about the misunderstanding, I've been busy and my mail was a mess, but is my idea ok?Cu, Poodle IP: Logged |

Sweet! Thanks Tail. Was the problem in the different Russian system, or a good ol' case of amnesia? In any case, it all sounds the same to me! Werner ------------------ DOWNLOADS+PILOT ROSTER+FAN SITE INNOVATION=B.C.A.T.P. Visit Today! IP: Logged |

after reviewing the russian original files, I think we lost some sounds with splitting into 4 pieces (the end of the second and third file were cutted during an announcement). I hope we will find the missing ones... :-)C-ya! Lector IP: Logged |

Tailslide- Is there any indication of when those russian files will be done? Jeeves and I are getting a little jumpy, and if it's going to take a while I think the Soviet Union will get bumped into a later release and we'll go with Japan and Italy. Poodle- Japan is 100% done, is Italy? If not, what is missing? Werner ------------------ DOWNLOADS+PILOT ROSTER+FAN SITE INNOVATION=B.C.A.T.P. Visit Today! IP: Logged |
