Exciting. I started porting the Viper again from a scratch 262, and only changed the tail and a few COG position initially. Bammo, I get above 265mph and the thing starts to jitter like it was flying behind a 747. I removed the wingtip DOF's, and stiffend the DOF's in the plane's wing roots raised the main wings up about two shifts, but no luck. Anyone have an idea on how to remedy this?

While goofing off with the FM, I thought it would be neat to boost the three engine's output about 10,000hp and the engines appeared not to even start. I guess there is a limit on the horses an engine can have in SDOE. So much for warp factor 1 .

Try lowering any dihedral.... I have seen that excessive dihedral can cause shaking.

Also in addition to stiffenting the root wing DOF sptrings, lower the angle (from 2 to 1 maybe) - and maybe stiffen even more. As a test, remove the DOF sptring all together maybe...

The flight model with the Viper shouldn't be much of an issue I'd leave it as a "stock" 262 and then just start fiddling with the power.

You might even add some "invisible" prop engines, and then increase the prop diameters and number of blades. I've had some pretty large performance range changes just from tinkering with the prop specs on the Corsair.

It basically is a rebalanced 'stock' Me262. Rebalanced to compensate for the third engine and shorter tail. I might try tweaking the dihedral and removing the DOF's in the wing. I also have to move the wings to be children of the falsewings.

I just wondered if I have the tail fin off by a billionth of a degree...check that, I tweaked it and it had no noticable difference.

The wing jitter was so bad that after I had it balanced and on its first flight, the wing tips were ripped off in level flight.

Another interesting problem is I am trying to delete two cannon from the 262 weapon 'group', but it won't let me. The Viper had 2 cannon, darn it.

I also had to modify the cut a hole in a tube tutorial from SV's site by doing a surface by surface construction, then removing and mergine points around the template. It worked nicely.

The key to making my F-15 go about 1500 mph was a engGearRatio property. I think it was 1.05.

I accidentally killed the current redone version of the viper last night by deleting a duplicate 'Group' of shadow objects. Oh well, I can just do it again later. Anyways, I deleted all DOF's that made anything shutter to no avail. I did get it up to 42,000ft and once at 1000+mph at around 35,0000ft, but it was shaking like a wet puppy. I might just do it from scratch, but who knows.
