I hope the following link will show you the current status of the Viper I am working on. http://www.fortunecity.com/underworld/ladder/526/myviper.jpg As you can should be able to see, the cockpit is nothing more than a canopy right now, since I haven't figured out how to do a proper cut with AC3D. I might have to move on to another program. Uh, you aren't actually downloading anything more than a 250k jpg file, it is just Fortune City's way to tell you that I linked to their page. That looks so cool.. I can't wait to fly it. I loved the Viper when I was a kid... they were one of the coolest ships around. Keep up the good work. Mirthain=FC=IP: Logged |

Here they are running it on the Sci-Fi channel on Sunday at 9:00am. The special effects aren't too shabby, but the film quality is showing its age. My wife immediately picked it out as a 70's show (actually it was a 78-79,80's show ).IP: Logged |

I first saw that show not so long ago (christmas eve) when they had a marathon on the Si FI channel! I love that show, although it is true you can tell how old it is ------------------ Watch For Falling Focke-Wulf's [This message has been edited by AE71_INFERNO (edited 01-28-2000).] IP: Logged |

Sometimes the easiest thing to figure out is what you spend the longest trying to get right. I just spend 3 hours redoing the canopy (and it still doesn't have glass, althought AC3D makes doing that a no-brainer). The original one pictured wasn't right - the rear quarter windows needed to be a funny D shaped, the thing was too long, and the front piece looked like Escher had done it. So I tried to fix the final orginal, and that looked way too complicated, then I took one of the 2 spare base models I had put off to the side 'just in case' and managed to get it right after 2 other goes. Now you can expect greater visibility, aside from that big blind spot called the engines and wings.Things yet to do: Cockpit Landing gear LOD Port to OpenPlane (I'll do the hand method, for now ) I might add a quick view point to the rear to simulate an on-board monitor and camera setup. Without it, a B-17 could sneak up on the thing. I have no clue how those Viper pilots could tell that there was something behind them.... Next time, I'll pick a plane with not much of a canopy to deal with. (SNIFF-SNIFF-SNIFF do I smell kraut?) IP: Logged |
