This fixes the pesky damage LOD model name bug - and the shadow. You need 8.1 to upgrade to 8.2. All can be found at:

Here is how I changed the shadow of the Fokker to match my SE5a:

1. There is a mainShadow part in the tree list in OPS at root level. Also the SE5a main part (fuselege) has an obShadow property that points to that model (like 'SE5MainShadow in my case)

2. First I edited this shadow LOD in AC3D. It is a simple 1 poly flat rectangle. I made it a bit bigger for my SE5a.

3. Next I opened the mainShadow.tif file in Adobe Photoshop - this is the texture mapped to the shadow in my case. This will look black.

4. You need to bring up the chanel window - you will see RGB and A - red green blue and alpha. You need to edit the alpha chanel. This chanel will show black with a white cutout of the plane's shadow blurred at the edges. Make the whole image black, then import the shape of your plane in white - then blur the image. Leve the RGB chanels alone.

5. Check the texture flags!!! If you dont, your shadow may flicker and otherwise go nuts. Just write down what the flags are for another models shadow or something. This is key.

6. Test it! If the shadow needs to be moved front/back left/right I just move where the poly is in AC3D, not OPS.

Not all planes work like this I think - some may use an .inta file? Anyway, you can build your own shadow this way if you need to.

The thing I'm not sure about is:

'MainShadSE5 1.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 1.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 0.00000 1.00000 0.0 0.00000 -3.50000 -5.00000 1.0

What are those numbers exactly? I left them alone.. they confuse me

Hope this helps...
