How do you set the max speed of your plane at various altitudes? Right now my SE5a is a dog at low altitude and is a super-plane at high altitude. I have heard that the key is in the prop set up - is this true?

So SDOE obviously models air density changes over altitude, right? What aspects of the FM does this effect? I imagine that it effects lift and drag, but does it effect engine performance? If it effects lift/drag than it also effects lift/drag on the prop, right?

I am trying to get my SE5a to fly closer to spec. Any hints on what changes are required for what results would be greatly appreciated!

Much thanks,

Step by step instructions are in the FM FAQ on the OPP forum under documentation

you SHOULDN'T have too much problem with the prop, since you will be creating a fixed pitch prop. The only tricky part is to try and get the right angle of attack and blade twist (can't rember if blade twist is modeled)

Blade airfoil, twist, and width is modelled in sections along the length of the blade.

By the way Tailslide,

That FM FAQ is great! The prop section is awesome! I did see it a while ago, but in a quick scan it looks breif - then I relized that the lines don't wrap because it is a txt file heheh.

Now I will be able to get my planes much closer to spec!!! Thanks!
