I've actually managed to get the Iron Dog off the ground. As of now, it's untextured, has a modified mustang cockpit, and tailwheel gear. And It's extremely nose heavy, so no wonder i have full up elevator trim.

Kraft,

i played around with making a P39. i used Razor747's P51 Bi-plane as a base, since it already had tri-gear. you might want to think about using it for the base. just move over the LOD's you've made to the new model.

If you want me to turn it into it's own plane, send it over and i'll have it back to you in a few mins.

looks great keep up the great work...

Razer, I sent you a mail on your netaccess adress a few weeks ago, but got no reply. I've already made it a tricycle gear job but for ease of testing I've just called it P-51 for now so I can use the P-51 training and hangar missions. Thanks, though. As soon as my Photoshop is back up and running I'll get to texturing. Anyone know what the SW and the HW in the cockpit list in mustang sm file mean? I can see my canopy from both sides, so I don't think I'd need to make two of them.

Wrong Razer Kraft...

Razor747 has the netaccess account. Razor747 (with an O) is your DOF guy. he can do just about anything.

Razer (with an E) (ME) is your Model guys. i can do a lot with Models.

maybe that will help can't wait to fly it.

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle! Sorry bout the mixup, Razer/Razor747! Anyways this project is progressing with the momentum of a mid-size steamer. I'll be calling in the cavalry when I get to doing contact points and If anyone would like to make a cockpit for it, let me know!

AI can even fly it, but it's very unstable.

SW and HW, I believe one is for Software mode and the other for Hardware (3DFX, D3D), etc.

Kraft,

Those properties tell the engine to kill or enable the object when running under the software or hardware renderers. We used simplified geometry to keep frame rates up when running the software renderer.

These days you can probably get away with a hardware-only aircraft.

So... how much longer to wait for this? I am really excited about seeing this plane in the air. One thing about the P-39 that may be hard for the fm settings is that under 10,000 it was untouchable. It will beat the 51 to 10k and any other aircraft. The drawback is that above 10k it is a dog.
Just some thoughts,
