Well, ladies and gentlemen. Grab your Choppers! Were headed for Nam!

You will be able to download this and many other beta projects from Razor's and Jaguar's new site. Soon to be open on the Fightersquadron server!

If your thinking: Man I'm not gonna spend the whole day downloading this map! Forget you clown, I don't need to fly in Vietnam!............You have some attitude mister!.......But if it takes you the whole day to download 8MB, then you better start thinking about getting cable. (more to come about this later, there IS a SMALL catch)
And no, this isn't some small 1x1 mile map. It's around the same size as the dover map.

I will finish this project along with the Huey soon, so don't you worry.

Cheers!

Great presentation Jaguar. The music is too cool.

That looks a lot like an island in the Coral Sea to me. Add some Carriers and you got SDOP.

Jaguar, Have you solved the torque problem? Could you use a hidden counter rotating prop above the main rotor?

Thanks.

The torque problem is pretty much fixed in the no torque settings... haven't messed around with the torque settings on enough to figure whats going wrong. Although, that is a good idea.

This map could very well be turned into a SDOP map. The sea is rather large in this map...... maybe like 1/4 of the map.

let me ask a question here..... If I did finish this map, would anyone even use it? This is a HUGE project and I don't really want to waist my time if people are just going to fly it a few times then delete it. I know it's not WWII related, so I can understand the lack on interest, but IS IT WORTH IT?

Jaguar, I would use it also. I know it is a huge project. If I can help you let me know. You should talk to Zoycite. He did the Rhineland Winter Terrain. I believe he made some tools to make it a little easier.

Jag,

Here's an idea for you. How about making the ocean go inland somewhat so we can use the land part (but colored like the sea) to have ships/boats drive around?

I COULD just give the ocean land properties. That way we could have moving ships, etc. This would be a heck of a lot easier too. But at the same time you would be able to drive and land on it. hhhmmmm Decisions decisions.

Here's what the map looks like now.

I was planning on having a mountain range in the mid lower left hand side, extending from the edge of the map to the ocean. then the rest of the map would be jungle, rice pattys and small villages.

Hi man looks cool, How do you make the map? what tools are you using? I would love to make one and don't mind hand painting and stuff. Is it complicated or hard?

If bryan is listening how is the OPS stuff for terrain work coming along?

right now Im just doing the Texture. It took me 2 days to find pictures and crop them for use, then you haveto apply it to the map. That could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depemding on how much you work on it.

I'm using paint shop pro.

well, it's more tedious than hard.

well aren't we just full of questions today

well....................see..................the thing about that is...................uuuhhhh...............gotta go!!!

Seriously though, I haven't reached that part yet. I just hope I can import it into AC3D. As for assigning what is water, etc, I will just haveto have a look in the asc file.... but maybe MH could save me some time and give me a short write up here .

I AM making a step by step doccument as I go so people can follow my steps.
