OPENPLANE STUDIO RELEASE HISTORY

V1.0.2
======
This a maintenence release for V1.0.x and fixes the following items

* Fixed problem with OBJ plugin that caused a crash when a material file
was present

* Added functionality to assign polygon flag and OP material infomation
To use, name the material in 3DS MAX (or any other editor) to the
following format:

&<material>_<flag>

where <material> is one of the material names as they appear in the
OpenPlane Doc, and <flag> is a Hexadecimal number. For example,
to assign the metal OP material with a flag value of E1, use a
material name of &metal_E1. Refer to the OpenPlane Doc for information
on what value to use for the OP flag.

WARNING : Changes made in this version to the OBJ->OPS Interface may
cause other unsupported OPS plugins to stop functioning.

* Fixed crash when "Add" or "Append" commands are used for inertia
properties.

* Fixed Model copy/cut and Paste so that the model s pasted
into the correct position. Previously, the model was positioned
incorrectly until the next save/load cycle

* Fixed problem where all models would be deleted when a non-displayed
(e.g. hidden or SW Only) model was deleted.

* Cleaned up DELETE Undo so that the model is inserted back into the
same position in the parts list it was deleted from.

* Fixed output window so that it will now scroll correctly to the last
item.

V1.0.1
======
This a maintenence release for V1.0.x and fixes the following items

* Colours and transparency for non-textured LODs is now displayed correctly
this is most noticable on cockpit glass.

* Fixed a problem with some named proplists were being interpreted as a unnamed
proplist which resulted in an extra set of parenthesis encloseing the list.
This effected most Art. Horizon implementations.

V1.0.0
======

This is the first release following the new two streamed concept.
This is meant to be the "stable" version but as its the first one
it could be said that its yet to be proven, but i hop ethat by limiting
new releases of this stream to bug fixes only it will quickly become stable.

I've tried to concentrate mainly on bugs that cause problems in the written out
SM file. I have incorporated fixes for all known bugs that fit this category
as well as some much less significant bugs, most of which won't get a mention here
due to there insignificance. These are the problems fixed for this release, some
might have been included in 00.07.08, but I've mentioned them here anyway.

* Fixed problem with property list inheritance that would sometimes cause
a crash to desktop when a plane crashed. It would also probably cause seom SW only
items to be displayed in HW mode and visa versa

* Added support for shared proplists. A shred proplist is one that is defined before
a group and is read by onr or more smObjects at runtime. Previously the shared
proplists were simply included in every model that would have read them. This was
the cause of the failure of some of the P51D's guages. The offending shared proplists
in this case are actually insignificant and could have been deleted but there will
be other instances where shared proplists will be important. The Shared proplist
will apear in the Model view as a Group Icon with the group members arrayed below it
You can edit the proplist for this group in the same way as you would a models
proplist.

* Fixed mis-handling of proplist parsing that caused a proplist with two or more proplists
values to be written out incorrectly. The particular issue was the fuel cell on the bf109G
which was causeing FM problems when incorrectly written out. Also did a bit of work to the
proplist parsing to improve proplist handling in more cases. I will be intorducing a feature
into the beta strem that will alow the propist parsing to be bypasses for those who like
to edit it by hand in the "Edit as Text" dialog.

* Added face normal generation to the OBJ plugin. Also added members to the plugin format so that
the full LOD format can be added at a later date.

There were also quite a few smaller bug fixes and changes that aren't worth mentioning, The 4 fixes above
will cover most, if not all of the currently known SM file write problems.

Bryan,

I went ahead and loaded up this version and it broke my plane

I'm going to continue to use version 1.01. It was the Obj plugin stuff you mentioned. I figured I'd try it anyhow. Thank goodness for backups!

Keep doing your great work though. It's fantastic!

Well, I reduced the polys on my main fuselage part and when I imported the Obj file it looked fine. I made sure that the switch in distance was set and the main lod was active. I saved the file and loaded up the game. No fuselage lod showed up so back into OPS. In OPS it all looked fine! I again made sure those settings mentioned above were still good and they were. Saved it again and then tried in the game again. Nothing. I then put my old Obj fuselage back in. Saved it and tried it in the game... it was gone too!

So I'm back to using the older version for now. That's the scoop.
