I can't take any credit for the skin. I am just using one off of http://www.fshangar.com site. I still have to make a skin for it. The canopy can be seen from the outside, but when I am in the cockpit, I can not see the canopy. When I open the cockpit up, I can no see the canopy from one side of the plane? Any ideas? I have found that the surface normals are facing out. How do I fix that?

Are you using AC3D? If so, just alter the ploys to be 2-sided - click on the 2S button. That might help...

I do notice that when viewing normals in the 3D window, 2 sided objects still show only 1 normal, which I suppose is correct as normals are only defined by the order of the verts - just remember that normals do not matter with 2 sided ploys...

...I think

I am using AC3D to edit the LODS. The canopy is set to 2 sided, but only one side shows up in the game. I can't figure out what is going on.

That is just so ugly - I have to have it! It reminds me of catfish whiskers - and a moving canopy to boot! Great Razor747!

Did you just edit the old ME canopy? If so I think that it might use a glass type that is only visable from the outside or something - I am not sure.

I think you might need to create new inside glass LODS like in the P38, new Spit, etc. - look at these sm files... I wonder...

love it but it just saddens me that its kinda pointless considering theres no way to implement radar in openplane.

I love it...I was saving a skin for the B model just in case someone made it. While no sim is ever perfect, I guess the "Target State" overlay can be used to simulate radar.
Again great job!

Diego Lozano,

Do you already have a skin for it made? I will have the texture mapping done in a few days. Will you make the skin for it?

Does AC3D set the 2-sided flag in the LOD polygon? If not this might be the problem.

well here's an option. Set the glass to 1 sided. Copy the glass, then paste it over top of itself. Select the copied glass, then flip the normals..............now I wonder what would happen if you clicked merge at this point..... Might be something to toy with. But all the way up to the merging part SHOULD work for ya.

Cheers!

Bryan,
Where is the two sided set in the LOD?

Jaguar,
I have already done that and it is a messed up when I bring it into the game.
