Heya all,Well with all this modeling going on I thought I'd join in. I have never done anything like this, but after seeing SV's work, I thought I should give this a go. SV's tutorials have helped so much. Thanks SV! Its far from done, But atleast it flys. FOKKER DVII Like I said its far from done, buts its a start. I also figured the Gerries needed another plane. I'll submit more as I get farther along. Gotta love that "Lozenged" look.

ZoyciteWOW !!!! Beautiful work, Zoy! There are FOUR use made WWI Planes right now !! RB2000 ! Hey, Spanky, what will it happen when we send the screenshots to the WWI community ?!?! Zoycite, your texture is the first lozenge in SDOE. Did you notice ? The easy way to change the skin in SDOE it will produce fantastic skins. I can see the red Udetīs DVII with his LO! No colors like WWI colours! Thanks Zoy. Here is the links to the other WWI aircrafts (to the guys that havenīt seen it ) Svīs SE5a : http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000051.html http://www.schoolmusic.com/chickencoop/se5a/index.htm Michaelīs Sopwith Camel : http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000045.html http://fsww1.webjump.com/ The Airco Dh2 : http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000061.html http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Quasar/3601/flash2.jpg Thanks Zoy ! Heya all,I have missed the WWI A/C. After years of playing RB, I found myself being intrigued with the whole era. Even more so than WWII and the 40's. When RB2/3d came out, after a while it just didnt give me the same fun I had with RB. So I selved it. After playing a few sims for a while, SDOE came out, and I would have never have thought that I'd be flying WWI craft again. It is truly great. Nuum,SV and Michael, your work has given me great inspiration. Thanks You guys have done alot to further this sim. After posting these shots, I decided to redo the fuselage. I'm not happy with the nose. So it is now 3:00am and I have a new fuse with a nice nose. Looks much more like a DVII nose. Like SV, I used the DRI as a model, and have done a new fuse and rudder/tail section. Next will be new wings and struts. Over all the DVII is 3 to 4 ft longer than the Dr1, 8 inches shorter and almost a 6 feet longer wingspan. Its truly a worthy scout. Nuum, I have been waiting to do a Lozenge skin, now it has a place to go. Along with the LO, I cant wait to do Von Hantelmans plane, skull and all . Nuum, Please do send some pics. I have some but I could definately use some more. twest3@uswest.net Michael, Thanks for the links. I'll post some more shots of the new fuse soon. ------------------ Zoycite {GS} GUNSLINGERS visit The War Paint Factory [This message has been edited by Zoycite (edited 12-07-1999).] [This message has been edited by Zoycite (edited 12-07-1999).] IP: Logged |

GREAT GREAT GREAT!Keep up the work on that one! That is SUCH a key plane Are you doing any work with the FM? I am gearing up for some major FM work - this will be my favorite area - I am not such a good 3D modeler Look this week for my OpenPlane WWI site - I hope we can start to get these early version planes into a WWI plane pack! To make this fun on-line (and off) we will need to have the FM a little further along, otherwise dogfighting won't be quite as much fun. I am glad that you found my documentation helpful, and VERY VERY glad that it was helpful for WWI plane creation ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!

Heya,Nuum, I have only side profiles all the rest has been modeled from photos. SV, When its closer to done I will work on the FM. I have a all the specs I could find and have an interesting article on the performance specs used in the film Blue Max. It seems that the DVII was the FW of WWI. In its current state, the FM needs some serious work. Also the DM. ------------------ Zoycite {GS} GUNSLINGERS visit The War Paint Factory IP: Logged |

Is it just me or does anyone else think the Dr1 is too tough to shoot down.I seem to pump huge amounts of rounds into it with not much happening.Zoy,your plane is looking great, are you going to post regular updates to download as with the Se5a?love the colour scheme.IP: Logged |

Yea, the DR1 is tough. My guess is that we need to make it easier to kill the pilot - as often was the case in WWI dogfights. As far as the wings, I think it would take allot more shots before you could hit the main spar, or enough wing wires to cause a structural failer. I can't wait to start on WWI DM and FM heheh. ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!

So, is it true then that only the improved Fokker Dr1 and the SE5a are the only WWI planes that have been released? I can't seem to find any links to download the sopwith or that sweet Dh2.Thanks Werner ------------------ Do you support SDOE online? Email Werner to be listed in SDOE's online phonebook today! The Sopwith isn't ready for download yet and probably won't be for several weeks. But it definitely will be released eventually.IP: Logged |

"Released" is a pretty strong term for the SE5a I guess you could say it is "released" for educational purposes only ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!
