JT Woodpanel & I were having some yak on our p47s, and in my references there's mention of the high number of pilots killed or injured by the then-new bubbletops in the mustangs, jugs, etc coming into the cockpit when they went to eject. Is it possible to model the apx 30% failure rate on ejection?

..Holidays, real life (and the really hard bits) have slowed the razorback somewhat, but its coming along. -rt

Hi are you guys planning to pool resources and use the same cockpit textures? Certainly the cockpit layout and instrumentation are identical in the P-47D-23-RA (razorback) and the P-47D-25-RE 'Superbolt' (bubble canopy).

Not sure on that. I think I remember reading that the cockpit layout had to be changed when they switched to bubbletop. I will double check. I'm sure many parts inside the cockpit would be common to both versions, but their position may have to be tweaked.

Ooooohhhh! That looks C-o-o-o-o-l! I wouldn't bother with 30% rate of ejection. We're all really, really good pilots, and surely nothing like that would happen to any of us!

Hee-hee!

Mk10=225th=

P.S.: Did I tell you that looks really, really cool? Love them checkered cowlings.

Looking great man

Race away just don't rush it, we all know what thats like right?

I would say give it to some FM guys first then u don't have people complaining it doesn't fly right

I plan on doing that, or doing it myself.

once again looking great but I can wait for it to be done right

You may be right JT, I just checked my sources but don't have a picture of a P-47D-25, I have cockpit pictures of a P-47B and a P-47D-2-RE. I thought the D was a later model but it's obviously earlier.

Just read a bit fulther D-25-RE did include cockpit layout changes (I don't have any details). Your right - I'm wrong, suppose I should check before pontificating

At the moment, it's not possible to model the ejection failure.
