OK, so its flight model is wrong and its textures aren't mapped correctly yet. In an effort to encourage those with the skill to finish this bird, I offer two basic schemes at RAF Harkness.

They're only 256x256 (although my working file is 1024x1024 with the future in mind) since I presume its SM does not support higher-res textures yet and I have left off the serial numbers and underwing roundels due to texture distortion.

I have also not replaced panel lines from the original Mossie texture which was used as a base or knocked myself out getting the upper fuselage textures to line up with the side textures since some very weird mapping things are going on. Such work would probably be a waste of time at this stage, so it can wait until someone finishes this great "what if" aircraft!

Great job. It is real nice to know you are there to paint those odd planes to the proper colors.

You should put the black square back left of the spinner it maps to the tail wheel.

Keep it up we need good painters all the other seem to have gone to some "other" projects

Ahhhhhhhhh! So that's why the tailwheel went white. Thanks, I'll try to fix it when I can. Anyone who's already downloaded it, you heard the man, you know what to do if you want a proper tailwheel.

As far as sticking around, personally, I think anything which will replace FS-SDOE in my main realm of interest, the RAF in Europe (primarily Bomber Command) is unlikely to happen along anytime soon. Hell, we only have about FOUR F-18 sims on the market right now, so the sim producers must be busy creating more of those!

Me, I'm loyal as a puppy to things I really think hit the mark (witness my still fervent love of the 1993 release Tornado). For British aircraft at least, I plan being around here when they shut the lights out!

I agree totally 3dp, I'll stick around as long as there's something to stick to ;o)
(but right now it feels like this site is slipping, oh well it has happened before and so far it seems like people in charge here manage to resurect it again & again...cheers to them)
