The British media is much harder on their politicians. I once saw a BBC interview with Tony Blair and it was really interesting to watch the interviewer press Blair every time Blair tried to sidestep a question. He would not let Blair off the hook on anything. When ever Blair said something that was vague or that would contradict past statements, the interviewer would press him on it... repeatedly and for minutes at a time. At one point, it seemed like the entire interview got snagged on one question which the interviewer, not satisfied with Blair's response, kept asking again and again. The interviewer went way past the point of being rude and it was refereshing to watch. The interviewer simply would not accept BS answers. It occured to me that in an interview like that, Dubya would probably have a meltdown... kind of like the meltdown Bush had when that one interviewer was asking him to name the leader of Pakistan, which he could not do... was a fair question and he should have known the answer or at the very least could have handled it better.

I guess the problem is that politicians won't give interviews to people who they think will burn them, so in turn, the interviewers, fearing they won't get the big interviews and someone else will, turn soft... like larry king or something. Why do you think Larry King gets all the big interviews? Is it because he is really great? No, it's because he throws softballs.

It comes out that Dan Burton had an affair.
That was about the extent of the news story
too. Dan Burton had an affair. Then it was
dropped and back after Clinton they went.

As JT points out. The press only digs when it
involves scandal and then its usually when
a democrat is at the center of the scandal.
Right now they are too busy worrying about
Condit to bother with the stupid shit Bush
is doing.

They could have dug enough dirt on the Florida
election to still be talking about it but they
let it drop.

No he didn't deny it on national tv or lie
about it under oath, but he didn't get the
chance either did he. Maybe a more liberal
press would have given him that chance.

He represents americans. So now it's "if you
don't represent too many americans it's ok
to be immoral." He's still an elected representative.

Jerry, I really think you better check your
thinking. You easily fall into the typical
republican, hypricritical thinking. As long
as you are a republican anything goes but if
your someone else you better walk the line.

And yes, I am right. Dan Burton should have
been investigated just like Clinton was. Who
knows, maybe he did have an affair with some-
one on his staff. I think affairs are like
potato chips, you don't just have one. Thanks
to the right wing controled media who didn't
follow up on the story we'll never know, will
we?

He conducted an interview with the CEO of
a company involved in a long labor dispute
with it's union workers. There had been some
divorces and suicides related to the labor
dispute. Dimick asked the CEO if the labor
dispute was worth the divorces and suicides.
The CEO replied "Yes if it meant the company
being globaly competitive and would save jobs."

After the interview the Co. decided that answer
didn't sound very good. They called the station
and asked that it be cut out. Dimick didn't
want to cut it but he was forced by the
station manager. The rumor was that the Co.
threatened to cut off all contact with the
tv station if they didn't cut the comment.

It does happen. If it can happen in a hick
town like this think how it must be over
very important matters.

To our local newspapers credit they did pick
up on the story, verified it and reported it
just as I have told you.

It is no one's. Life isn't easy, we're all in it to destroy others in order to make our own way (selfishly). Some can't take the stress of following a path to competitive displacement and destroy themselves rather than push forward.

We're all just nice on the surface, and in our (self-)conscious conscience.

[More media limitations]

There is an entire world that exists in the Classified domain, the Mofia's domain, etc. These worlds are largely impenetrable. Only the dedicated the turncoats and the idiots break through the barriers that separate domains. I find it hard to believe we have any real knowledge of what happens in the impenetrable domains that we unknowingly touch.
