Where are they? I must say, these guys are going way to easy on G.W. Now I am like the biggest G.W. guy, but he really has been slacking... I really think he looked allot better during the election. Don't get me wrong, he is still my guy, but wow, he really sucks these days. He really does sound like a moron everytime he opens his mouth... and he is not giving any kind of leadership. If Gore doesn't run, looks like the democrats have job waiting for them... I just hope it is someone good like Kerry. Why is the liberal press being so easy right now? Do even they want to shed some cynisicm- just for a while? IP: Logged |

That's easy. The "liberal press", as you call them, at the core, are owned by republicans. Therefore they are not really liberal. Oh sure, they throw in a little anti-republican tid-bit once in a while to make it look good but they will never really dig deap into any republican shit and find out where the dirt is. I've said it before and I'll say it again. IP: Logged |

Generally speaking, I think the American press is way too easy on politicians... well, easy on politicians when it comes to real and important issues... the stuff that doesn't sell soap. On scandals, the press turns into sharks... we all know that. The British media is much harder on their politicians. I once saw a BBC interview with Tony Blair and it was really interesting to watch the interviewer press Blair every time Blair tried to sidestep a question. He would not let Blair off the hook on anything. When ever Blair said something that was vague or that would contradict past statements, the interviewer would press him on it... repeatedly and for minutes at a time. At one point, it seemed like the entire interview got snagged on one question which the interviewer, not satisfied with Blair's response, kept asking again and again. The interviewer went way past the point of being rude and it was refereshing to watch. The interviewer simply would not accept BS answers. It occured to me that in an interview like that, Dubya would probably have a meltdown... kind of like the meltdown Bush had when that one interviewer was asking him to name the leader of Pakistan, which he could not do... was a fair question and he should have known the answer or at the very least could have handled it better. I guess the problem is that politicians won't give interviews to people who they think will burn them, so in turn, the interviewers, fearing they won't get the big interviews and someone else will, turn soft... like larry king or something. Why do you think Larry King gets all the big interviews? Is it because he is really great? No, it's because he throws softballs. [This message has been edited by JT (edited 08-08-2001).] IP: Logged |

Jerry, I don't care what newspaper it is. You don't see them really digging into any republican shit. I'll give you a good example. Look at all the shit that was dug up and reported on Clinton. Of course the republicans helped this along but the news media was right in there digging. It comes out that Dan Burton had an affair. As JT points out. The press only digs when it They could have dug enough dirt on the Florida [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited 08-08-2001).] IP: Logged |

Did Dan Burton have an affair with a member of his staff? Did he have sex in the Oval Office? Did he, on national television, point his finger and declare to the American public that he did not have an affair? Did he lie about it under oath? Does he, as President, represent all Americans? If the answer to these questions are all "yes" then you are right. He got off easy. IP: Logged |

An affair is an affair. Now it's who your with that matters? I think it's whether your a republican or not is what really matters. No he didn't deny it on national tv or lie He represents americans. So now it's "if you Jerry, I really think you better check your And yes, I am right. Dan Burton should have [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited 08-08-2001).] IP: Logged |

Give me the name of one network or major newspaper reporter who has said that their reporting was edited, censored or factual information witheld by the paper or network owners. In fact, most of the owners are not individuals but thousands of share holders. What do they do, have the share holder's vote on each news story before it's released? Most recently it was the reporter, Dan Rather, who refused to report on the Gary Condit business until CBS told him he had to. You sound like Hilary and her great right wing conspiracy being the source of the false Lewinski stories. The only way you guys can explain the truth when it puts you in a bad light is to blame it on an evil conspiracy of so-called fat cat Republicans who control America. What a bunch of paranoid nonsense. IP: Logged |

Local Peoria TV station = network? This is a Republican conspiracy of newspaper and TV owners? People divorced and committed suicide because the Union wouldn't let them work? Whose fault is that? IP: Logged |

quote: /crazy-rant-on [Striking a Company] It is no one's. Life isn't easy, we're all in it to destroy others in order to make our own way (selfishly). Some can't take the stress of following a path to competitive displacement and destroy themselves rather than push forward. We're all just nice on the surface, and in our (self-)conscious conscience. However, only an IDIOT would mention on TV that a company could and would benefit from the deaths of depressed, hard-up, striking workers. I wouldn't strike this CEO's company, I'd run away screaming from such obvious stupidity. [Liberal Media] Liberals are too stupid to cover-up, suppress, or mitigate their mistakes adequately (Clinton). And the Pot-Smoking "liberal" media is too stoned to care enough to ferret out real dirt on (even dumb) Conservatives. [Rant rant rant] The Public doesn't really care any more. They are too afraid that the new e[-]conomy will fall through the current floor into the basement. We've already descended into a mock democracy, like the Pre-Totalitarian germany, Pre-Churchill England. The current chancellor is not really leading, is afraid to. Things are moving forward by back-room deals. [More media limitations] There is an entire world that exists in the Classified domain, the Mofia's domain, etc. These worlds are largely impenetrable. Only the dedicated the turncoats and the idiots break through the barriers that separate domains. I find it hard to believe we have any real knowledge of what happens in the impenetrable domains that we unknowingly touch. /crazy-rant-off IP: Logged |

"He really does sound like a moron everytime he opens his mouth... and he is not giving any kind of leadership." Goddamn Sv, where were you last November? I told you. The guy is a waste of mass. You conservative guys would have done a lot better to hire an more competent president. This dude is a one-and-out president, like his daddy. Now you'll have to wait 8 or so more years to get back in. IP: Logged |
